Vertical doors

Where do you get the idea these doors arent safe? They use the same holes as the OEM door hinges and are Heavy Duty.

I didnt bother to repost the stupid picture but, if you kept up with the times, Lamborghini's Aventador has the Vertical doors.

To answer the OP's question. The doors are not difficult to open and close as you open the door normally up until the second pivot point. Then you lift the door. The doors have the hydaulic struts to assist in the lift. I have them and "yes" they would get old real fast if you could only open the doors vertically. I don't open the doors vertically unless I'm at a show or opening the doors while the car is on a trailer. I kept my OEM hinges so if I decide to go back to OEM it is a simple swap. Hope this helps, Enjoy Your Mods.

Im confused, wouldnt these doors come in serious handy when parking too close to another car or a wall? At work when I use the back yard to park its a small area, so I like to be as close to the wall as possible so that there room for people with deliveries do go past with plenty of room. Now stay with me....If I could avoid from always having to swing the dang door Outward!!! LOL!! do you see where Im going with this. This is a great space saver when you need it.

If this is done reasonably priced...I will get it done! BOOK IT!!

I've toyed with the idea myself, but cant decide what is more econimical, a vertical door, roughly $1500, or so.. or a multitude of cheaper mods that will all contribute to better mod out your ride. Still undecided.

Paying 1500 to have mine done. Kit was 1000 and having put on for 500. I am actually looking forward to it. It's not my daily driver, but I can afford it and always wanted so why not. I don't know why so many people hate. You have the option to open both ways. Lambo doors will draw attention for sure. I don't think ricy at all.

about 8 members in my Camaro club are getting ready to get Lambo doors for their ride. I'm considering getting them too mainly for looks & the "cool" factor, though the small clearance advantage when parking can come in handy in some situations. The price for the door kit looks good & I will do the install myself. One responder above commented that the Lambo doors are not safe but did not provide any explanation as to why. From my understanding the Lambo doors utilize your stock doors but replace the stock hinges with heavy duty hinges to provide both normal horizontal swinging door movement & upward movement. So what's unsafe about that?

As Dylan stated it's your car do as you wish. But IMO there are better Mods for the Camaro.
