Talking My 1st Camaro Sighting

First sighting deserves first post. Saw 2SS/RS Black Auto w/ black/ orange interior. Had ground effects package also. Sorry, caught off gaurd on weay to work so no camera. Had all week waiting for this but family used it yesterday so no pics yet. Only a mile from work so will go back. Need to leard how to upload in the meantime. Was at Bachrodt Chevy in Cherry Valley, IL. Sold car, but owner not in town to pick up until Friday so is roped off in showroom. Says do not touch, but they opened up and let me sit in it. I'm 6'4" + 270 lbs and felt comfortable. Big relief to finally experience. Still need test drive, preferably 24 hr lemans test in Avis Car.

Did hear a few new things about flaws/ quality issues I hadn't heard before, but not sure about accuracy. Said GM badge below CAMARO was initially placed to close to wheelwell and would be in way or get covered by flares/ ground effects package. Seems minor. Said gap between hood and fenders did not line up at back of hood and was rubbing against fenders. Had to cut or shape 6" length to fit and repaint.

Also said they changed seam coming from rear window out to back fender to going back to trunk seam. That didn't make sense to me, but the others, maybe? They pointed out exhaust tips were recessed into chrome outlets by about 1.5" and thought they were to come out even so condensation would not sit on chrome and stain it. Any thoughts?

Overall great first experience, but waiting for more before my SIM LS Auto comes in at end of year.

Just curious--did it have a sunroof? If so, any head clearance issues for you?

By the way, dealer said they cancelled their "dealer" car and had sold 6 of their allotment of 11 and thought order would take about 8 weeks. BS?

Sorry, yes had sunroof and no, I don't think I would have much of an issue. Not committed to that though because I wasn't supposed to be in it so I didn't really touch anything. Dealer moved seat back for me after I had gotten in, and then tilted back some when he saw me checking clearance. Was a good thing I could get in easily without it being set all the way back to start.

I asked about May 6 unveiling and he didn't know about any special event planned, maybe because they cancelled dealer car? Doesn't make sense to me.

i too got my first look at the new camaro at a carshow today. the owner gave me the chance to sit in the car and it was awesome. the visibilty will be an issue at first but it is not horrible. another thing is the interior is just amazing not the cheap plastic the mustang owners were all saying about it

I sat in 2 of them today and thought the 1LT was a little plain Jane but the 2LT was very nice. The 4pak gauge cluster really dresses up the dash/consol area.
