It will not affect performance at all. Not even a little bit. You will hear 4 cylinder mode much more clearly. It will be a lot louder.

I have an M6, and I did a muffler and rear cat delete. It is only temporary for me until I install longtubes and a full 3" exhaust. I love the sound and pickup I got from it.

Backpressure is a myth on modern PCM cars. It's a carry over from old carb days. When you deleted your resonator section, did you replace it with a aftermarket X or H pipe? The lack of either of those WILL lose power. This car loves a crossover and has one in OEM form. On the L99, it's in the resonator section that you deleted.

i wouldnt say that but normaly if u have a chart to use on newer cars . 3in if u plan on like 500 + hp , with all boltons on the 5th gen 2.5 or 3 is normal but with blowers u def need 3 in . personally i have 2.5 off my headers back and love it. but never heard one with 3 in without a blower or something on it

You need to get a aftermarket X or H pipe to weld back in there. We've had a few members do what you did and noticeably dropped HP as well as documented on the dyno. You can grab a Magnaflow True X pipe for around $75, then have it welded in line.

I'll let you answer this one yourself. In damn near every catback/axleback thread, the one thing that everyone agrees upon is that anything after the cats is for sound as long as you don't delete the crossover.

Put an x-pipe in the place of the res !! I did best mod I could have done. But if you have not already bought a programmer if you have an l99. You would want to turn on the dod so it won't drone when the cylinders cut off !! Gas mileage goes straight to hell but I think it worth it !! Good luck

I just have a straight x-pipe no res at all !!! I would say it adds a little power not much but good flow to the exhaust. I go up on the dyno in 20 days so I'll see what I gained if anything at all. But you never know I've heard of people getting power increases with it !! Good luck
