Blown Camaros f/s

Tell me why there are so many 500 & 600 + hp FI and NA Maro's on here for so cheap?! I know what I have in mine cost wise and I'd be giving it away at $45k! Either their resale sucks, the owners are needing to sell at all costs or I'm living a pipe dream. I don't get it?

Because on the outside it looks like a $30,000 used Camaro.

Not always. Yes, people need to understand that mods on a car trying to be sold will add little to no value. Hell, sometimes they can take away value. Smart people start off by finding the best possible deals on mods and if they ever do decide to sell the car they will demod it to sell it as a stock car. If you bought a lot of your mods used you might actually make $$$ selling a car.

Also, I LOVE racing/driving/working on my car so all the $$ I put into is will never be $$$ wasted.

Looking at your signature and going on those mods you would not be able to get anywhere near $45k for your car. I would expect you to be in the $35k range.

Why are the prices low? Well when we modify these things they become specific audience cars. Unfortunately the audience for these cars most of the time wants to build it themselves so there is not a very large buying base. Also, as with most other mods, the money you invest is generally lost when you resell. You need to look at it not as an investment but rather the cost to build what you want that you will not get back.

I would say DEBT most of the time. If its not DEBT some people build cars have fun with them and get tired of it really quick its no un common even in this bad economy

If you're referring to me, my 10 has less than 10k miles and I didnt start modding until last November 2011. I guarantee you a fully optioned 10 with that low milage and $24k worth of quality professionally installed and tuned equipment / suspension my car will sell in Dallas area for $45k or more.

FYI my cars dealer trade in value (not retail) in stock trim is $30,895. Car new was a tad over $38k. So your $35k (retail) is way off the mark.

LOL, I'm with talwell on this one. How much do you actually think you could sell your car for?
I'm thinking $45k is a bit high.

There's no way you'd ever get 30k from a trade in with that car stock.. It's not made of gold... 35k does seem about right for that car

sux2bu beat me to it!

My car is equipped similar to your car with all top of the line components and built by a renowned professional shop. My car is fully loaded from the factory and only has 500 miles on it it. My car does not even have a single spec of dust on it and the undercarriage is cleaner than the top side. I am asking $39k for my car and realize that I will not get that amount.

I am afraid to say that if you think your car will resell in the $45k range that you will be very disappointed. I also wish mine would sell for that as I also have over $20k over sticker invested in it but that is just not the case. We are better off just keeping our cars and enjoying them rather than taking the loss.

Trying to get out from under the car payment myself. Change in circumstances here. Starting around $39k as well, for a 2400 mile 2012. Over $50k to duplicate and not sold yet, of course not actively advertising anywhere but here. These are nearly sticker cars to buy, mine stickers over $34k, 1ss, but I'm asking for another $5k for $15k + in mods and labor, heck, I got nearly $5k in labor alone, it's like pay for the labor and get the mods for free... But it is a specific market of buyers for these.

I would guess that people are scared to buy them also. You never know how a modded car has been treated. If i had 600rwhp, I would be using it if you get my drift.

So a person looking for one of these cars has to be able to pay for a replacement motor, trans, etc if the modded one takes a crap.

You guys all have beautiful cars and I hope you get what you want to out of them. For the life of me I can't believe talwell's hasn't sold.
