Oh darn it! LOL! forgot all about the launch control coming up soon possibly. Am I really in the right time frame? It never felt so good to own a V6

I see. The reason I asked is that it doesn't look tilted here. Unless I'm wrong

It is tilted according to VR's instructions.

I've got a few questions, I'm sure they've been answered before, but all I have to search the forum is my phone

1 - do you need a tune after installing one of these? My car was already tuned when I bought it so I'd rather not have to re-tune. I would have to drive 400km to get it done.

2 - I haven't checked the clearance under the hood yet but is there any problems with installing the 25mm insulator? An inch seems like a lot.

3 - is there any problems with installing this with certain CAIs? I have an Injen long tube.

Thanks a lot guys. Sorry if these questions have been asked before but I'm up north and it would take forever to scan the whole thread.

re-tune not required...25mm fits fine, there are no issues with clearance...and i've got the Injen long tube as well and its a great combo.

Did the install today for the 25 mm. Took me 3 hours because of those 3 bolts in the back. I now hate them all. Only thing I am worried about is the gasket maker. I don't know if I put enough of it on.

I took the car out for a spin afterwards and instantly felt the difference. This is well worth the money.

When you torque the bolts to (EDIT: 18ft/lbs) the gasket maker becomes very very thin. If you put at least a 2mm bead you will be ok. I'd be more worried about putting too much on and having it ooze out and block the intake runner holes.

Just make sure you followed direction on the gasket maker. The biggest mistake peoples make is very simple. They don't follow direction on the label LOL. As long as you followed direction I wouldn't worry. Not enough gasket is worst than too much gasket. Just look for black soot or anything that look like leak.

WHAT.......60 ft/lbs............

I thought it was reported 18 ft/lbs for the intake manifold bolts.

Just looked up the specs.

Upper-to-Cylinder Head Bolt - Long
25 N·m
18 lb ft
 Upper-to-Cylinder Head Bolt - Short
25 N·m
18 lb ft
 Upper-to-Lower Intake Manifold Bolt
25 N·m
18 lb ft

Put just enough gasket maker to form a thin layer around the opening.
