Need help with headers!
I have the Loudmouth 1 exhaust and a G5CR intake, now im focused on the headers. I want the most power so im going long tube for sure, but I dont know anything else about headers. What is the difference between the 1-3/4 and the 1-5/8 other than the size?
I am specifically looking for the deepest/loudest sound and the best hp/tq gains. I need cats because its illegal in nj to not have them. I also dont know what an x pipe will give me. I have no budget. If you have a video of a loudmouth 1 + headers, please link me cause I cant find one video anywhere. Thank you guys so much for dealing with my noobiness. I am a computer engineer, I dont know much about cars... |

Ok well basically the bigger the diameter the header means more exhaust flow which mean more power but there is no real difference between 1 3/4 and 1 5/8 only 1/8 difference so it doesn't really matter which one you get. I would suggest BBK longtube headers because you want to run cats and the cats come with the kit. As far as sound they all some pretty much the same I don't know of any certain longtubes that sound better than others. Also as far as a x pipe well if you like your car loud then don't get one but if u want a more mellow sound then get the x pipe. I would suggest that you see how it sound with your loud mouths first and if you love how it sounds leave it alone but if its too loud for your taste then add the res x pipe. And vids can be hard to find but there are a ton in the better exhaust thread.

Well I've had the loudmouth 1 on for almost 6 months now, and I love it. Im just lookin for a deeper sound while without muffling it at all.
I guess im stuck between http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...headers-v6.htm and this http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...s-cav6shwc.htm any suggestions and why? |

I am far from totally informed about this subject but you may consider some funds for a Trifecta tuning package to correct the CEL you may be getting with the long tubes. Read and search through the forums for additional info on this. Its good to know what to expect for the total install issues that are affected when you modify. Good luck to you and your neighbors when you fire that thing up! Enjoy!
