I think he just wants a scapegoat for some reason or another.
French fries ironically are American and Pizza as we know it is American, if you ever go to Italy you'll know what I mean. If you’re Italian all that pasta you love originated in China and the Pizza you love is nothing like the pizza in Italy, it is a thin round bread with pieces of mozzarella (large) complete basil leaves and complete round slices of tomatoes. They have more choices now but I think those were influenced by American Tourist or Italian visitors. Dam I'm getting hungry now. Anyhow my point is sometime these things have to come full circle to be made better with a different perspective. This is truly an International car. BTW does your brother know the car was designed by a Korean and developed in Australia?

Yes, i realize our pizza and a real Italy pizza have little to nothing in common, but it all started from somewhere, eh!

I'm going with "that's a stupid reason to not buy a Camaro". When buying a product, the only logical thing to do is buy the one that best fits your criteria at the best price, regardless of where it is made. I do think it is important that the U.S. maintain a trade balance and have a healthy manufacturing industry, but the way to do that is to build competitive products at competitive costs, not protectionist consumption policies.

Not bashing you or anything, I buy American as often as possible as well...

But could you walk out to your Silverado and look at the door sticker?

GMT-900s are built in Canada and Mexico as well as in the US...

It's just basic business...GM is a global company, they're going to have global production and distribution. The important thing is that the company is headquartered in Detroit, which is in the US, which means profits stay here.

I think the U.S. should invade and annex Canada to make the Camaro "American Made!" Besides, I think their hiding weapons of mass destruction there and they created the swine flu virus so they could keep all the Camaros for themselves.

(P.S. If the Camaro was "made in america" would you not put gas in it cause the gas is made in the middle east.

i'm aware, but mine is Fort Wayne. i would not have bought it if it was made in Mexico....... the Avalanche is ONLY made in Mexico.

yes, the bottom line is i'm still supporting Detroit, but i also like supporting US worker whenever possible too!

while many on this forum do not understand where i am coming from, you have to know that our GM and Chryler plants (GM just shut down) has supported most of my family as well as most of my friends families my entire life.

i beleive in supporting my community...........i don't understand why others don't.

Addition to earlier post.....1st thru 3rd generation Camaros were also built in NORWOOD OHIO (can't believe Fenwick missed that 1)

I too am GM all the way/Buy American all the way/ Support local businesses/Support the troops......ect...ect

The GM plant that built Camaros for lots of years in SW Ohio closed in the late 80's. That plant too supported my family, my town, my school. I understand kinda where you are coming from 2010SSRS....BUT....In the grand scheme of things, although the car is built outside these wonderful 50 states we call home, Money collected from the sale of those vehicles stay with the parent company...GM...in the U. S. A.

And the answer to the question by the OP.......Yes that is a dumb reason not to buy this car

If more people had your brothers thinking then Japan would not sell 50% of all cars. I agree with him to a point. If it is not made in North America I do not want it. That being said. It's getting hard to buy anything that has a North American label on it.
Time marches on with or without our particapation
