Muffler Delete with Res. x-pipe
So I know this muffler delete topic has been beaten to death, and I have read basically all that is to offer on this topic. However, I have noticed that the complaints for straight pipe on a v6 are generally the same: too loud, too much rasp and too much drone. But can't all of the above be taken care of by installing a resonated x-pipe?
Anyone have straight pipes with a resonated x-pipes installed? I remember seeing one..but he also has the cats removed along with LT installed. What do you guys think? Just trying to think of ways to have the most economical install while maintaining a reputable sound. |

doesn't your ghost cam alter the sound of the exhaust though? I don't know much about the cam..
And also did you change out all of your stock pipes to 2.5"? I actually in the works of getting quad exhausts done..so I might go the same route you went. No drone right? |

I can't hear a big difference between this and a simple muffler delete which lets you keep the warranty

I see. Was there ever a point where you had the muffler delete and the res x but no headers? If so, how was the drone?

I had muffler delete with everything else still stock. I didn't have bad drone, just the rasp in the mid range RPMs was unbearable to me. Everyone's opinion on the topic is unique, I think.

I have just what you are looking for (not my setup...but links to vids)
First here is resonated X without stock resonator and muffer delete using 2.5" pipe all the way back: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106250 This next one is using the resonated X WITH the stock resonators but no rear mufflers. http://s556.photobucket.com/albums/s...t=233d8526.mp4 I know you can't say for sure without hearing in person, but the 2nd vid seems a bit lower in tone and I like it.
