just came back from my dealer he a a 2ss with no right side mirror on it ,i asked him what happened he told me the truck driver busted it off .so maybe there is a problem. or driver issue not sure didnt have a camera to take any photos .now to me the screws that hold the mirror on didnt look damaged at all. so my wife said maybe they took off one mirrror for transport .which sounds logical. but that brings up another problem that means they are taking off the door panel again and again .and god knows anytime you take something off in a gm you will have a rattle for life .hopefully the drive really did break it

I guess it depends on what kind of truck they use to haul them. as shown from the picture above.

Does anyone know where they hubs are for the train/truck conversion?

The right mirror was busted off of the silver 2SS/RS that was just delivered to Tommy Thomas Chevrolet...they're supposedly overnighting the replacement and he's supposed to have it fixed on Thursday. So it looks like this really is a problem that we'll be seeing from time to time...

The GM of the dealership said that the truck drivers said that he hates these cars "so hard to unload...everyone is a 6 speed..why 6speed? Automatic so much easier" said in the funniest foreign accent you can imagine, lol.

The car is gorgeous though, it was the first 1 I'd ever seen in person and made me wish that I wasn't STILL at 3000 (almost 6 weeks later)

The owner graciously let me sit in the seat...really cool guy he'd been waiting a long time for that day. I won't make fun of him too much for stalling out as he was leaving (just kidding I'm sure I'm gonna stall out too I've only driven a stick just a couple of times)

Umm...does he have one of those newfangled automatic trucks?

And does he know that the automatic is a 6 speed also?

Just take your time, don't expect to go right away like with an automatic, and enjoy.

I know I'd be pissed if I backed out of my garage and the passenger mirror snapped off because I was 1/4 inch too far to the right. I do that about once a year when my wife has the truck parked too far to the center of the driveway for me to back out, but the mirror just folds the other way so I just get out and correct. It's an unlikely occurrence but still.
my mom did this to my '93 camaro... asked to borrow it since all the other vehicles were gone, RELUCTANTLY handed her my keys. As i was walking back in and she was backing out I heard a horrible CRUNCH. Ran back over to find my driver side mirror smashed I still don't let her forget about that, and it was like... 6 years ago?

We do not ship them with the mirrors removed.

Mirrors have been torn off of cars and trucks since we started shipping cars and trucks on carriers -- there is NO TRUTH to the rumor that we can only ship two Camaros on each truck -- the proof is the many pictures showing Carriers FULL of Camaros........

Right now they can only haul 2 Camaro's at a time on the transport due to the mirrors sticking out to far to get them forward.
OK, after my evening of camaro stalking with the wife, there actually was some merit to this topic, but it had nothing to due with the mirrors.

It wasn't even close to being reality, but here is how I believe it came about after talking with an actual car hauler.

GM (this guy said) made them load & unload 2 two cars several times on the haulers to make sure they would not bottom out and that they could safely be stacked. The haulers were original told they could only haul 2, but it all got worked out VERY QUICKLY this guy said.
