Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurdy!

I took one for a test drive yesterday. I can't get over how much quieter and smoother these new trucks are to drive.

I loved my '09 Silverado. I never should have got rid of it. I made the mistake of getting a '11 F-150 () and it just doesn't compare to that Silverado. The Ford has some nice features, but seems noisier/more rattles and cheaply built in some regards.

So jealous. Of both of you.

Trying to find a used GMT-800 Silverado/Sierra or Avalanche is a nightmare.

That being said...

Someone should buy her. '98 model and coming up on 66k miles.

Patience, my yound Padawan. When I was in college, I was driving my Dad's '73 AMC Hornet Sportabout wagon back and forth to college. It was so rusty that we put a two by four in the fender (held in with liquid fiberglass) so that we had something to screw the headlight into.

As for the new truck, there was actually a Sierra available with the specs I was looking for, but it is in Massachusetts. It would have cost $1000 to have them trailer it to Ohio. The dealer was willing to split that fee with me. I like the grill on the GMC, but I like the taillights on the Silverado better. So, I decided to order the Silverado. They said it could take 6 weeks to get it, but that sometimes trucks come sooner than that.

I've had 2500 Silverados before and I have always liked them. These new ones are very quiet and smooth. I may need to get some headers for it!

I ordered mine on 1-26 and it was delivered yesterday. I was really surprised how fast it was built after how long I waited on the Camaro.

If we are on a new-truck-buying-kick, put me on that list too, although (hush) its unfortunately not a GM? Anyway I couldn't resist the amazing ride of Dodge's independent rear suspension... same benefit I give the Camaro over the stang! plus if you dont want a short bed, the quad cab on the dodge has 4 exterior doors that can be opened independently, while the extended cab on the chevy is rear opening, and it has more leg room, otherwise you have to step up to the true crew cabs.

Anyway, Here she is... already modded her out and I've had her less than a month.

2011 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 in Green Its loaded out for the BH with added tonneau, step bars, bed tred liner, rear case, cab lights (not yet installed) winter floor liners, rear liners, Laser jammers (escort 9500ci), tint, and maybe a few other items I missed.

I guess I'm not very good at being brand loyal?? (but I do have 3 GMs at home)... sorry y'alls!

It seems you always have a new vehicle in your driveway. Do you ever sell any? That truck looks good.

I'll never buy another Chrysler. Ever. We bought one of their cars once and had serious problems with it... none of the problems were covered under their warranty. They would not stand behind their vehicle. We swore never to do business with them again.

I actually wanted to get a regular cab on my truck, but they don't offer the "LTZ" trim level with a regular cab. So, I got the extended cab. I don't care for the look of a truck with 4 doors. To me they look much sportier with 2 doors. The extended cab does give me a bit more inside storage though. And the back seat has it's own access door making it easy to get in and out of the back seat. I was very happy with how the the truck drives on the test drive I took.

I find buying cars to be a lot more fun than selling... I dunno why haha.

but yes, I occaisonally must get rid of them.

I prefer regular cabs, thats what I've had on my last several trucks, but with a baby seat in the back I figured I'd want the rear doors, and now that I have it, I love being able to open up the back seat to put things in (like groceries and stuff). The ram has a fold flat rear for cargo storage when your not using the seats (I'm sure some of the other cars have similar).

If I didnt really want 4 doors, I probably would have ended up with the chevy and never would have even driven the ram. They do look sportier without the rear doors- As I said, this is the first time I've had a 4dr truck and its more because I thought i needed it than wanted it!

I'm sorry you have had such bad luck with chrysler! I've had great luck with chrysler, and this is my 7th Chrysler car. I personally feel the best service department of any dealership is Jake Sweeney Dodge/ram. In fact, thats where I took my camaro for service because they've always been great, but it all depends on the dealer. I've had TERRIBLE like with jake sweeney chevrolet. Since Jason introduced us to McCluskey though, they have been 10x better.

Enjoy the LTZ!

My VMax Black Ice-olator is scheduled for delivery on Friday.

With basketball & volleyball tournaments eating up the next 4 weekends, I might not get to install it for a while.

Good point on the baby seat thing. I only have to worry about a poodle and he rides in my lap.

I think the dealer makes a big difference. I've been very happy with how McDaniel Chevrolet in Marion has treated me.

Let us know what you think of it, when it is installed... of course

Nice trucks everyone! Silverados are pretty good trucks from our experience. We're a Chevy family (ok, well, dad is a big Chevy proponent) and his Silverados have always lasted. The only reasons he ever bought new ones was because people totalled 3 of his in a 6mo. period.
