Door Trim and Ambient lighting
This may seem like a dumb question, but I dont know the answer to it. I have the 1LT and it doesnt have the ambient lighting. But, lets say if I was to buy someones Dash and Door inserts, does the Door inserts have the Ambient Lighting stuff attached to it? If it does..do you think it would be easy to get it to work in the 1 LT? if it doesnt come with it, is it possible to take the ABL off with the door molding that I buy and then make it work at that point. Or, do you think there is something special that needs to be done in order to get the ABL working in the 1LT?
By the way, if you are one of those people that have the 2LT or 2SS that maybe has the silver trim pieces and wants to sell them with the ABL, let me know..also, i will be selling my black cloth inserts. Thanks. |

the ambient lighting, from the way I understand it, is not built in to the door trim. Should just be a small lighting strip installed behind/under the trim. I thought I'd heard that ABL would be available as after market stuff later in the year... can't remember for sure though.

Somebody's going to make this stuff in the aftermarket.
I want ABM IP/Door accent panels, and ABL.

Man, newcamaroowner, buying that car off the lot just to have it quicker is gonna end up costing you a lot more than the $2000 over MSRP by the time you end up making it how you want.
But if you have the money, rock on, I guess........... |

Yes, I am blessed and lucked out getting this thing however...even though I ran into a few headaches...but, when you guys get yours...you lucky SS buyers and so foth...the 2LT is rocking awesome...they are all awesome...Im just wanting to make mine a lil more than what it came with...the 4 pack cluster, hard plastic moldings for dash and doors, ambient lighting...and tryin to get this damn RS stuff sorted out.

i would suggest living with it for a while, six months or so, then aftermarket stuff will start coming out and you will be able to get it lot cheaper compared to right now.

i would assume the plug in would be there if u can get the materials. Also, not sure how much luck you will have of someone getting rid of their acrylics, but if you look in the vendor classifieds section, some of our forum dealers are runnings sales on the panels right now. I believe you can get the panels for around 350 or so. Just have to figure out where to get the abl material.

Man, it really sounds like you want a 2LT/RS... I think you should get it. You won't really have to wait that long, and you'll be much more satisfied in the end.
