That stuff should come off. I just removed my bow tie and rear as emblem and it left the same thing. I used mineral spirits followed by some polishing compound and it looks like nothing was ever there.

What are the emblems you put on?

I always start with rubbing alcohol and work my way up to other things if it doesn't work (Bug and Tar Remover, etc.). Meguires Cleaner Wax is also pretty amazing at times at what it can do.
