Why are changing to something else?

I thought I read, or heard, some where that most sanctioning race groups only allow harness setups with race seats designed for the harness and that a harness and OEM seat were not allowed. Any truth to that?

When you're talking about a harness in an actual race car, you're going to be restricted to a 1 piece seat hard mounted with cutouts for the shoulder and antisubmarine belts (and a full roll cage, door bars, bare interior, etc...). If you want to do a few DE events or Auto-X events in your street car, you can either swap seats for the event, or use the OEM seats. Those are two very, very different things.

I pulled this stuff out because we're entered into One Lap of America this year:
One Lap Entrant List - Edelman Racing And I don't want to mess with harnesses for 10 days in the car. Plus, we need the room in the back seat for luggage, suits, helmets, etc.... When I get back, I'm thinking about gutting and caging the car anyways.
