anyway, I went back and re-read the early order part of the workbook and agree that we read more into it than GM intended and GM tried to tell us that but were so PC about it that it didn't sink in and they kept dancing around it.

I was reading the last page of the Ordering Workbook, on the Early Order Page.
"The ability to submit bona fide sold customer orders well in front of the start of production is a unique opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing customers and establish a bond with new customers." That's what it says. My question is this: How does it "strengthen a relationship" or "establish a bond" to take an order from someone, take $1000 of their money, and then completely shelve their order in favor of production for speculative sale under the guise of exposing the car to the unwary public? This is no different than being invited to a restaurant's opening one night early, and when you get there, you find out they're letting anyone in the door who bothers to show up, and then when you finally place your order, you find out they're serving the people who wandered up first since they didn't know much about the restaurant before they wandered up. Now I ask you, are you going to go back to the restaurant?
Look, you want to generate interest in this car? Put 'em on the damn street where people see 'em driving around, not stuck in a showroom. I get that you want people to come to the dealership and actually see the thing, but my dealer I ordered from, on 11/3/08, is the largest car dealer in the largest city in Mississippi, and they're not even going to get their V-6 car for tomorrow's 'unveiling'. So that worked out really well....

7 months for me too, but like a baby growing in the womb, it looks like 9 months to achieve perfection. I have done everything I think of to induce labor. We all want our deliveries, especially those of us who have built cars lost in the Camaro Triangle.

We all want our car NOW!!! But its all a bunch of bullsh*t happening man. Its folks that ordered their cars back in Oct '08 and still ain't got theirs yet. More than that, its folks that ordered after Oct '08 and have their car already tearing up the damn streets. We are all pissed and left in the dark, but I honestly believe those of us that have order numbers and such will get our cars soon. What I would suggest to you to help ease your nerves is to load up your .45, head to the gun range (not the dealer cuz I don't want you to go to jail over a damn car), and let all your steam out there. Cuz bitchin' on these threads (like we all do) isn't gonna get your car here any faster. Or better yet...Have a few drinks on my tab.....lol

Went to my dealership a week ago, and the inventory guy said that our RY 2SS had been scheduled for production but without a date. Is that reasonable? Which of those little order code numbers would that be? I feel your pain, brother.... When my son looked over the guy's shoulder, he turned off the screen! These guys have no clue and very little integrity, which means they'll tell you ANYTHING to get rid of you for a while.....
