Did I get screwed?

Not knowing much about subs, today I bought a MTX TNA251 for $230, I know I got screwed on that part. But the man that installed it said that it is pushing my 12' CVR to full potential and still has half the power left. He is trying to get me to purchase another 12' CVR from him, saying that that amp will push both subs to full potential. Is this statement false? Thanks for any info. What amp would it take to push 12' Kicker CVR's to full potential without blowing them?

RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 150 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 250 watts x 1 chan.
Max power output: 600 watts x 1 chan.

at those specs

500 rms subs...
according to this you'd need to run 2 of those amps at 1 ohm to give it full potential

also: pushing 2 subs on this amp, will i believe overheat it, i noticed many reviews when i was researching it. i dont think MTX are the greatest quality amps.

this is alot of bass, i have 2 500watts 12"s subs atm. and i've been in your situatuion. i just recently got rid of my POS bazooka amp i had that was overated wattage.

i wouldn't buy another sub, if your happy with what u got it should give full potential IF... its wired to 1 ohm.

"All sales are final" The sub was bought along time ago, I am thinking of buying another 12' CVR. What would be a good amp to push 2 CVR's to full potential?
