Craziest thing......

I took the Vert in for another round of the window rattle and my Zune HD not playing. They also decided to do the 'tape fix' while it was in there. Lucky me!! I told them I really don't want the top messed with until the final fix is ready because I don't have leaks (yet) or the bow problem. I figured, what the hell maybe it will help with the indentations. It actually created a couple new ones. Anyway, while he was messing with the top, I guess he crossed something up because now I don't get any sound from anything; backup sensor, turn signal, radio, etc. unless I push the roof up/down button. It took ME four days to figure this out while the dealer has been waiting on an amp or antenna to come in that GM told them to try replacing to fix the 'no sound' issue. Hell, first they tried to tell me it was my phone causing the problem. Now I'm waiting on them to call me to bring it in to fix it again. It's been to the dealer three times in the last week and a half for minor things and everytime I get it back with more things wrong with it than when I brought it in. SHEEEEESH!!!!

BTW, I know others are having more intense issues with the top and I would too if I would put it down more. Matter of fact, I was told to cycle the crap out of it and they will just replace it. The weather is getting too nice for me not to but I'm not sure I want to deal with the hassle just yet. No telling what kind of condition I would get it back in.

I think there is a big learning curve on these verts. I had a window regulator replaced and when the put the car back together they forgot to connect my rear speaker.

My Zune HD gives the radio fits when connected to the usb. There is a lot on this site about that issue. Don't think it is set up to play the music that has the digital rights attached to it... only the music that I have downloaded. I have given up and just plug it into the aux input.

Don't get me started about the top.

Stork, is there another dealer in your area that you could take your vehicle to? That might clear up a few of these issues. I would suggest speaking to your case agent if your case is still open for you and make sure it is ok that you switch dealers to try and get a different perspective on things for you. Hopefully through our channels we can get all of this taken care of for you soon. I'm very sorry about all of this.

I've come to the conlusion that most dealers and not trained and are ill equipped to work on these verts. Maybe in a couple more years after they get some experience.

You'd think GM would set up a training class and make it mandatory for any shop that services these verts to be certified or something.

Yeah, it's a little upsetting because I bought the HD to use exclusively with the car because it's bigger than my regular 8 gb Zune and it plays all tracks (owned and subscribed or digital rights) just fine.

This is the second dealer that I've been working with so far. The first dealer that I purchased the car from didn't really seem too interested in fixing anything and they are a little bit of a drive from me, so I switched. I was impressed at first with this dealer's enthusiasm to try and help me with the issues but so far they've only made things worse in the process.

When I read things like this it makes me want to sell,I havent had these issues ,but then again I don't drive it much ,I just wonder if problems are waiting to come ,I plan on more driving this summer :(

I do have the rub marks but I refuse to let them do anything until a perm fix is available ,what ever that means

I agree on the quality of the technicians. I called yesterday to find out when I could bring it in to have it worked on and they said they are still waiting on the amp to come in that GM told them would need to be replaced. The service rep then informed me that when she told the tech about the sound coming on when I hit the open/close button for the top he said that doesn't surprise him because that's what it was doing for him when he was hitting the trunk release button. WHAT??? All this was neglected to be mentioned to me when I was told to pick up the car while they waited for parts.

Fix the problems once and for all. We don't need to tie up our cars over and over again or drive to different dealers. The "mechanics" are so called trained. The amount of money we all spent was not found falling off trees in our yards but earned. Each payment i make I look back and say, i am paying for the car and it sits in the dealers service center. Whats wrong with that picture? I enjoy the car but am frustrated!

Update......

I was called on Friday that the parts (amp) arrived and to bring it in to fix it. The service dept called me later that afternoon to ask if they could keep it over the weekend because the car is in pieces and they don't know what's causing the problem. It was fine for the most part before they touched it to create this problem and now they don't know what's wrong. They said it's a wiring problem that has to be tracked down. As far as I was 'told' all they did was an update to the PDIM and swap out the USB plug, so I'm not sure how much 'tracking' has to be done. What is the exact requirements or qualifications required to work at a GM dealership as a technician or mechanic?

You should just get an iPod, then you won't have this issue. just kiddin man, it's definitely a serious issue that needs to be remedied. I know you are frustrated, but keep the faith. They'll get it fixed. And if they can't, find a dealership that can?
