I waited a good 30 mins for the person to show up, and then decided to just leave him/her a note. On a rock. In the back seat. Problem was delivering the note with the doors locked. It took a mighty heave, but it made it in the seat just fine

So, no, I do not take it well when people mistreat the property I work hard for.

The worse news was the following day I went to look at my poor Camaro with it's nose all caved in...to find that it had bounced back out! Other than a couple hundred stress cracks in the paint...boink! It popped right back out.

Probably cannot say the same for the guys rear window, huh?
thats awesome! Dude deserved the broken window for being such a horrible driver. I would have just called the cops on him, hopefully they'd cut up his license on the spot, that would make me smile

They will get it fixed right. The finish will be every bit as good as the factory paint. If it isn't you will be able to tell right away and I am quite possitive your dealer will make darn sure it is correct.
My 2002 Silverado 3500 came in with a hole in the rear fender (they are plastic like the Corvette) from a tie down from the car above it. BTW duallies are supposed to be on top and at the back of transporter and mine was on the bottom at the back. The fender was replaced and you would never know it had a problem.

Enjoy your new ride.

So if you order a car and it comes to the dealer with damage that requires bodywork and paint, can you demand a new car? Or do you have to surrender your deposit if you don't take the car?

Thankfully, it sounds like the fix in this case did not require any paint, or worse yet, paint AND bondo, but what if it had?

Scott, #268 was delivered to the dealership in Wetumpka, AL. yesterday AND it also has a dent in the passenger door. As your car is #230, all the extra time for special handling only got you a dent.

But just to prove that things could be worse, GM advised/instructed the dealership not allow #268 to be driven (actual words were "do not start the engine") until the battery cable 'fix' is completed. Additional insulation is to be applied to the battery cable at the starter, and the kit should be available in a few days. Please do not allow this information to hijack Scott's thread.

Dude, tell them to keep the f..... car, no way you should have to pay for some one elses mistake. You paid for a new car so it ought to be in new condition, not repaired.

I'd make em replace it and give you a discount off the replacement for having to deal with their stupidity. I would never take delivery of a car that has been damaged even before I got to sit behind the wheel.
