Yet another of many straw man arguments.
I know where you were going with what you were saying.

The burden of proof always lies with the person making the claim. Otherwise it can be an appeal to ignorance "lack of evidence" which is a logical fallacy.

well, you can always say the original claim was made by GM. They said they ran the ZL1 without "issues" but never posted anything pertaining to lap times and what they would consider a serious or reportable issue. To some, heat soak is a serious issue, to others its just a normal thing and to be expected.

That's because I didn't state that Chevrolet engineers completely eliminated heat soak from the ZL1.

Exactly. No significant heat soak complaints were registered.

Sure, if GM explicitly stated heat soak wasn't an issue, that is really not here nor there. I just knew that GoldenBear was taking issue with TooSlow saying someone had to prove to her the absence of significant heat soak.

We all know that motors heat soak, including N/A motors, it is how much performance degredation occurs with the heat soak that is in contention.

According to the comments at 6:48 in the video and a little data analysis it seems the ZL1 could suffer significant heat soak and still be significantly quicker than the Boss.

Before I even posted, I knew my biggest fan on this site, GB, was going to jump in with his infinite wisdom and "correct" me, so that statement was put it in at the end for his benefit. Put out a little honey and the bears come running!

Then allow me to gracefully step away from your cat and mouse games with GoldenBear

Please keep comments on-topic and polite.

Pete - good catch! I didn't remember about the tires (I knew there was something else, but couldn't put my finger on it).

Tirerack lists those Corsas as COMPETITION TIRES. ZL1's Goodyears are listed as Maximum Performance. While competition tires do not make a racecar (because I don't consider ZR1 and Z06 racecars), that goes further, IMO, to show the true capabilities of ZL1. It's running around on non-competition tires; to think that you could slap a set of competition tires like the Corsas or Sport Cups and get even more performance (still keenly aware of the PTM programming with the G2s) is just great! Anyways - I look forward to improvements from GM for ZL1 and think how it performs now couldn't be reasonably better

You are correct, I deleted my post, sorry and took some advice I received and used the ignore feature.

Although it may seem so, my wisdom isn't really infinite. However, it is quite extensive from years of experience.

You might find it helpful if you acquaint yourself with, and make use of, the Yale Alumni Association's Discussion Groups Etiquette, because if you do, your posts here might appear a little less negative and be more well received.

I prefer to use the report button instead of the ignore button. It help's the entire community that way.
