This story is nothing more than a synopsis of what we have already seen. There is absolutely no new information here and is based on pretty much nothing original. If you want to be newsworthy come up with something previously unpublished founded on some investigation or actual research.
Absolutely no criticism of dragonslayer. Who is "motorauthority" anyway? |

What exactly would cause you to have a doubt now? You have been on this journey for some time. I have chuckled at your apparent enthusiasm many times over the past few months. Your car is produced. We know the car performs. That has been well documented by many independant sources. GM is in the final stages of validation and launch. Why would you have doubts? What exactly about where we are causes you to say this? I'm not hating on you at all here so please don't take this the wrong way. I almost can't wait for you to get your car more so than mine. The finish line is near. Flush all the garbage that gets posted and just be patient.

I have seen the QC letters...this is not what this is...go back and re read the article here... There is a concern over a software glitch... or at least that is what is implied....conjecture or otherwise... Here we go with the blinders. Absolutely no criticism of Chevy, GM, C5, or hypoxic. On other sites they mention it is nothing major.. but if it were major... Its highly unlikely we would ever hear about it other than conjecture.... right? I hope no one follows me in holding off my delivery. Because that is exactly what I am doing. No fear, but I would rather wait another few months while there is absolutely no fear of a QC issue after the car is built. I choose to pass. Good luck with yall's YM 12 I am waiting for a 13.... or maybe even 14.... if thats what it takes... |

Order in on 13' ZL1 vert

Googling "ZL1 production delays" comes up with a few posts.
Pretty much the same story with a few words twists, but mostly independent and unauthorized opinion.....such as: http://gmauthority.com/blog/2012/03/...ff-to-dealers/ |

I always suspected the ZL1 was having some trouble getting off the ground. I know there are some new elements to the ZL1, but most of the car was in place. The new parts are borrowed from other GM products and tweaked for the ZL1. Chevy is trying to give us an amazing car for a pretty low price, and I think that has lead to some bumps in the road. Maybe the variation in straight line times for the ZL1 had less to do with the cold, and more to do with a system glitch? Well if anything I believe these problems were caused by Chevy under promising and over delivering (which is a good thing) for us the consumer. To be fair, I think Ford is having a hellva time trying to make 650HP work in the Shelby and don't be surprised to see some delays on their end to.

If it were a major issue the indefinite delay wouldn't have been estimated at a few weeks. A computer issue might make sense but we'll probably never know for sure. They really shouldn't tell us what the issue is. It would only get people upset over nothing, like they are anyways.

Let's say this doesn't get resolved for a while. What next? Does GM move 12 orders to 13 cars? Or do they delay the 13 build in June? If they don't get up and running by April, then I can't see them completing all the 12s by June. I mean I think they are only on vin. 464 now...

... i would feel guilty for leaving 400 cars out in the lot with sub degree temps with $600 tires that have to be kept over 43 degrees.......
I would call it a "software glitch" while I managed to change the tires on 476 cars... But that is another story. I am sure it will work out, GM knows what they are doing. If it is a problem, I know Gm will fix it prior to release...that is the reason for the QC hold in the first place.. My mom always told me "watch your warning signs" in life.. I see a sign.. I am bailing by gut and intuition alone.... I want that choice and is the choice I have decided to take. Glad GM caught it before releasing/shipping 476 cars to the public I call that quite noble on theyre part. Long live the Camaro..... |

I would assume it would push production of MY 13 way past "Startup for 2013 production 6/11 The first ordering cycle is 5/10." on both of these dates. But we can always wonder about something that might not ever happen as well, and Im sure gm realizes all of this. So far they have made a GREAT product with the ZL1. AWESOME! Lucky to have gotten this far I would think with no issues. Its a man made object and made made objects are bound to have issues. Or robot made.....

Shouldn't this be in the mega thread that was created for the QC hold discussions?
