Moving to Ft Lewis from North Carolina

Hi all....in about a month my wife and I will be PCSing to Ft Lewis. I was just wondering about any Camaro clubs, where they meet, and any good performance shops over there. I have a 2010 2SS yellow with black rally's, with a 418 stroker motor, cam, supercharger, and all supporting upgrades. Dynod 650rwhp and like 580 torque if i remember correctly. A buddy of mine told me I would need to have my car re-tuned due to the higher elevation and what not. Anyone know if this is true or not? And if so, who would you trust to tune your car? Looking forward to meeting some new Camaro brothers and sisters.....

We are at sea level just like North Carolina, so i would not think you will need a retune!
I am also running over 600 hp at the rear wheels and i have no issues with my tune for sea level. Carb Con is a great place here for some, i personally take mine down to Vancouver Washington!

local Camaro clubs are PNWCC, Northwest Fbodys, Camaro Unlimited & Camaro Cruizers.

thats for the west side of the mountians.

Out of all of them PNWCC & Northwest Fboday's are the most active.
PNWCC is really active & we have members all over the US and canada lol.

as for tuning Wang Performace in portland Or is the only person that will touch my car if not him then Ellis groo. (tranny is ellis 100%)

PS when does your sentence start?????

We have to be there by April 30th. Thanks for the replies guys, hopefully I won't have to worry about the tune because I have a really good tuner here and hate to have to find a new one. Looking to move to the Lacey area if we can find a good place at decent rental price. Our club here, Camaro South, is really active and I'm hoping to find a club there to do some community stuff and maybe some good drag racing when it's not raining. Have had some buddies say they loved it there and some who hate it so I don't know what to expect. It's rough enough trying to sell a house in this market and now worried about my tune on top of it. Life of an Army family right lol....

Pnwcc & NW Fbodies do dragracing, check out our website www.pnwcc.com

as for Community stuff, Pnwcc holds meetings each month (you dont have to come) & a big show that most of the money goes to Childrens hospital, Northwest harvest & LEO.

I live down in Yelm which is about 45 mins from lacey & about 45 mins from the bases depending on which way you go.

My husband is air Force Reserves & my son leaves for Lackland Afb in July

I was stationed at McChord till I got injuried last year. We loved it there and hope to go back as soon as I am done with recovery if its Gods will. We lived in Puyallup and loved it there (still own the house too). Im in San Antonio right now and they have an awesome clup here (SACC). Id like to get involved in a good club too if we can get back. Good luck with the PCS. I think you'll love it. The first time I saw Mt Rainer I fell in love with it. The rain isnt as bad as some people say as well.

Hi Lee,
Looking forward to meeting the two of you. Where are you from originally? Hopefully Steve Dallas hasn't oversold our weather (l.o.l.) I'll endorse Pacific Northwest Camaro Club. We've (my family) been members for a year now, and have really enjoyed it.

Tammy, you make it sound like none of the larger cities have good schools! He didn't even mention if he has kids! LOL!
Lee, there are a lot of nice areas around the bases. South and East, it tends to be more rural (I live in Graham, pretty much directly East, and love it - not too small, not too big), and the areas North and West tend to be more urban. Prices are pretty high everywhere, due to the economy... But I'm sure you'll find something.
You'll be arriving just when the weather is getting nice. It doesn't rain as MUCH as people say, just OFTEN. We have a lot of overcast, drizzly days here. But the beautiful clear days, when the moutain is out (that northwestern-ese for being able to see Mount Rainier ) quickly make up for the drizzly days. You will probably really love our relatively low humidity, too! Here's a sunrise picture I took in January - you can see why people love it here...

Looking forward to meeting you!
