Well if they do go bankrupt it will be the bogus chap 11 version Chrysler is going thru now. They wont close. Of course share holders like me will be totally screwed but oh well. Thats what I got for investing in GM to start with.

Nothing has been announced at all at work, and nothing is for certain yet... we will see what happens.

14,000 sold orders.... 7,800 already built... plus 1,450 a week approximately that we build monday to friday... PLUS overtime now?

Where the hell are all these cars going?
monday-friday +saturday now?
Not my cup of tea.

stop bitching, there are thousands of laid off people wanting to work. If its not your cup of tea, quit. Go flip burgers part time. They are making the cars so fast and with OT so people can actually get the cars without waiting for 6 months to a year. The buyers can't wait to get them. Be happy that this car is so popular. It can't do it alone but it could sure help turn GM back to the black...

Wonder how the guys down at the plant are feeling about this??? I too want my new ride but, I'd prefer to have it built by happy non-sleep deprived people.

My father works assembly/skilled trades at GM Lordstown where they build Cobalts. He used to work 6 or 7 days, 12 hours a day and loved it but didn't have much a life otherwise but they money was awesome. Now he is cut back to 5-8s and is bored... It really depends on what they are adding. a shift? a day? going to 10s or 12s?

I'm not sure I'd want to be pissing off the Guys and Gals who are building your car. Just a thought......

I agree, I'd want my car to be built buy somebody who is taking pride in their work and not forced to just "pump" them out. These workers in Oshawa need vacation and time off just like the rest of us. Also if you're pushing the truckers to deliver these as fast as they can, they're not going to take time to be careful with your car as they load and unload it. They just know that they need to get them DELIVERED!! It also looks like a ploy for GM to milk every last drop of sweat from their workers before they do file for bankruptcy and then have to re-negotiate worker's salaries. This entire ordeal has been a huge roller coaster ride for all.
