General Head Lamp Questions - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I am aware there is driving lamps, fog, and head lamps... can fog and head lamps be turned on at the same time? I only ask because every vid I see I only see either the day times lights or the head lights on... I know dumb question but im bored and im curious lol

Usually low beam and fogs can be on together. Switching to high beam turns off the fogs.

Are the halo lamps the same color for all cars, or do they vary with the external color chosen?

Same color but the DRL's are different than the HID's so if you do a harness like I did above you will need to swap the DRL bulbs to plasmas so they match. In stock configuration DRLs are not on at the same time as Halos so it doesn't matter that they don't match. But if they are on at the same time the DRLs are yellowish and halos white.

read the owners manual front to back today... still sort of confusing..
I wonder if you can turn the halos on, the DRL's...and the fogs but not the main lamps? that would rule!

How do you know the harness will work on the ZL1? It's got an extra set of lights over the SS/RS

I just pm'd NVMYSS this question.
I would like to have the Halo and fogs independent of all other lights. Being able to turn them on individually at will.
I was able to do this to my other cars by modifying the fog relay on one car and on the other by moving a fuse to a different bank of fuses.
However, I wouldn't want to mess with the ZL1 fuses and relays...wouldn't want to fry something.

Does anyone have pics of the different lights on? I know what the HID's look like, but I haven't seen a pic of the fog lights on the ZL1. I assume the DRL's are halogens like are on the SS?

The light switch is turned one click right... and the DRLs are on in that pic... you have to turn the knob one click right to get the Halos to come on in the day, but the DRLs are still on with them (I want Halos only in auto). With the Harness I got you just leave it in Auto and the Halos are on all the time with no DRLs in the day and everything on at night.

FieldGoal00 built this one for the ZL1 with an extra plug for the fogs... will work the same way as the one I had on my SS before.

ok.. lets say the DRLS and the Halos are on. Can you turn the fogs on at the same time in this position, IE, Halos, DRL's AND fogs at the same time?
Or by turning on the fogs does something odd occur such as the halos go off
and the headlights turn on?
