Okay, I've wanted to vinyl wrap my roof molding in carbon fiber vinyl for a long time now, but I realized I didn't want to risk cutting into the paint as I trim the excess vinyl away. So, online they sell a thin plastic/rubber molding that is prewrapped in black carbon vinyl, and underneath is 3M tape already applied as well. All you need to do is peel the tape off, and lay it down carefully. It needs to be trimmed to the perfect length with simple scissors, and it's best to round the edges as best as possible for better appeal. After its rounded and trimmed on one side, start peeling the backing a little at a time and lay it down lined up with the roof molding, and follow that process peeling a bit at a time until you get tithe other end. Once you are at the other end, trim, round it, and set it is all you need to do. It was worth a shot for the mod this simple to see if it looked any good.

Hava thanks guys. It's a cheap mod, and technically wayyyy to expensive for what it is. I could have bought molding and vinyl wrapped it, but the company that sells this seemed to do a great job. That vinyl is going anywhere and totally secure, and the middling is thin, and the 3M tape is already there. It's $50 shipped for two strips to cover each side with plenty to spare.
Red, your kicking ass man! Vertical doors, a new bumper, bitchin exhaust, and rims are probably next for you I bet . Keep it coming because I can't wait to see what you do with that ride.

Lol, when you told me you were going for a test drive today, I knew that would seal the deal with your decision. I wasn't leaning either way for you, as it's a very subjective thing. As long as you know you'll be happy, then it's likely the right decision.

.
on a side note, while we took apart the backseats the other day my buddy came across a very valid point, there are two big holes on the inside sides that were causing a lot of noise because the wheels are right there so you hear all the noise from outside, especially when hitting gravel you would hear so much echo inside the cabin, well solution to that was simple, cover them with insulation (same kind i used for the speakers) and just like that BAM !!!! cabin noise is eliminated drastically !!!
by the way these are not my pics !! i am just using these to show the two holes where all the road noise is coming from |
