Wheel HP to Crank HP guesstimate?

Just bought this 2010 2SS. The previous owner has made several mods I've learned including porting heads, cam upgrade, exhaust, intake, engine and tranny chipping and tuning.

Bottom line is I have a dyno report showing just over 400hp at the wheels. This is the automatic btw. Any guess as to where that'd put the engine hp?

I've read stock engine is 400hp and seen rear wheel hp dyno'ing at about 305 for some of the posts I've read.

Thoughts?

I'll have a list of parts soon. On the mail as to what exactly was done.

15% correction for manual, 18-20% correction for auto.

Just throwing this one out there, but, assume 18% loss throughout the drivetrain on the auto @ 400RWHP we could say that you would be in the ball park of around 472 "crank HP".

500 crank hp at a 20% loss would be 400 hp to the wheels

20% loss from the crank all the way back to the tires from a 500 crank HP motor is 400RWHP. So, you can say the motor is 500HP

I made 330 stock have only headers cam intake and tune 465 to the wheels. Autos generally 20% loss manual 15% loss. You should be pushing quite a bit more than 400 at the wheels.

Wish I were doig better but the Dyno doesn't lie and in my case I'm stuck at 445. I'd LOVE to hit 500+ but I think each car had a mind of its own because even the same or similar mods they don't alway make the same power. Wonder if higher flow injectors would be of any help? Could look into SC or Turbo. Both at least $7k tho. Ah well. I can dream lol! Congrats on your monster you've made. Very nice ride it looks like!!

I do have an Air Ram CAI and full Flowmaster exhaust. My signature was too long to include those.

Relax. I wasn't criticizing you at all. Just saying maybe I didn't get the gains I could have and was glad you did. It's all good.

FWIW i use the same Mustang dyno at Vector Motorsports (shameless plug) with each performance mod to see what i've gained. Love seeing the positives. Overall i personally don't care, it's the in between's that matter most. 460 RWHP here
