They haven't even been making them for 2 months yet- after years of hiatus. The internet information highway has spoiled us. 15 years ago all you would know is 15,000 orders (And counting)-- be nice if received before the summer is over.

Sounds like the remake won't take long. Is that process started? Good luck.

More good news: It apperently failed inspection right after it was built (in March).

It SUCKS that nobody at GM seemed to know this, or could give me a straight answer.

Now it looks like I have to order a new one, or pay megabucks over retail to get it sooner.
How did you get this information and who told you what?

Did your vehicle event code come up as something different?

On the brighter side, my reorder is blazing through the production process like a wild fire. My reorder was sent to GM thursday of last week. Friday morning it was 3400, and on the production line. We are expecting to see at 3800 by the end of the week.
So even if you do have to reorder, it should go through really fast.
I don't remember seeing in your thread exactly who told you what either. Could you tell me how you found out, who told you what?
Did your event code change?

I am just trying to figure out the status of my car....

Your dealer can tell you your status code. Has yours been built?

EDIT: Sorry just notice your VIN #, so you are in the same boat as the rest of us, built car not delivered

Hi -

The last info came from my dealer. Apperently, dealers can get more info because they talk to their higher-ups who have the skinny on all things car yet for some reason, he had no event code.

GM's customer service reps apperently don't know or don't have access to up to date info. This was proven to me when every CSR I talked to gave me a different answer. ("It's built! It's not. It's delivered! It exploded. It's on hold! We don't have your order. Who are you again? Have a nice day!".

In the end its just best to wait. Check in with your dealer once a week or so. Try not to pester him the way I have mine - there's nothing he can do to get your car in faster.

Actually my dealers are really good. They actually call me and ask where my car is sometimes, just due to the information I have gave them we get from Fbod and other insiders
My guys are well informed, but just wanted to make sure they didn't need to be talking to someone other than the DBC (Dealer Business Center).

Hi Everyone,

There are so many responses in this thread (thanks for the show of support!). I just want to make one thing clear. I know there can be problems with the car. This isn't my complaint at all. I am THANKFUL that the plant takes the time to do some QC and hold or fix the car. All that is cool.

My beef is that Nobody at GM that I have talked to can tell me what the problem is. I don't know if I should wait 2 days or 2 months for the car. Should I wait? Or order another one? ARRGHH..

Communication.

It was lacking with the Pontiac Solstice rollout and it appears no corrective actions were taken by GM. Also, the allocation process sucks...still!

I know they care, but under the circumstances, just how much do they care?

But everyone who hasn't gotten a chance to needs to read fbod's latest thread.
I hear you about Scott's thread and comments, but it doesn't address why they can build a complete car in 4 days and they can't repair, I mean retrofit a car in a month.

Scott even mentioned in his latest dissertation to us that he was sitting at the dealer while Thor was receiving multiple reflashes. SO, how long do they take. How many are we having to get.

It's crazy the way they are treating people over this.

2Much.....I feel for ya man (and all the rest of the members in the same boat) It's unfortunate this is happening to many of the first cars. I can understand the QC and not wanting a faulty car getting shipped out to a customer. But I also think that the amount of time it's taking for customers to find out about the problems and being told to reorder is a bit excessive. While the notice seems to be late...GM is at least doing the right thing and getting the reorders on the fast-track through the assembly line so that you guys don't have to wait any more time than necessary for your cars.
