I had a 69 Hugger Orange RS, and when I saw the new IOM Camaro last week my heart skipped a beat....I loved the car. I will say I never liked the 4th Gen cars that much though.

I think this is one of the first threads where somebodys mind was changed due to the exterior. most people love it, but hate the interior or the price, or some weird thing like that...i guess the people that didnt like the exterior figured out they didnt like it by the pictures and never even considered it. and im sure theres alot of those. haha, i love the car. the power trains, the interior, and the exterior.

Got a '69 RSSS convert - most beautiful car ever created, but the 2010 may one day top it. Also got a '93 pace car - best looking pace car ever, but waiting to see 2010 Indy pace car.

As I think back, I think just about every photo I have seen (and I have been following the developments since I saw the Bumblebee in Transformers) has been what in photography we would call a 3/4 shot, and most of them slightly elevated. It tends to 'skinny' down teh car a bit. The 3/4 shot is an old line photography technique to make people look thinner. The photos just don't show how squared off the car really is, and I guess that surprised me more than I expected.

Don't get me wrong. I am thoroughly pleased that Chevy has finally done the right thing and brought the Camaro back. Perhaps over time it will grow on me. (That may happen because my son has decided he WILL buy one soon as he can work out teh details.)

And, as you may note from my screen name, my 'other' car is a 2006 Corvette C6, so it's not like I am about to run out and buy a Mustang or anything.

But seeing the Camaro live, in person for the first time, wasn't for me the love at first sight I had anticipated.
Ha, fair enough... thanks for the response! I agree that it does look "slim" at some angles, and I've seen others that just make it look like a beast. I was very pleased when I saw it in person, and especially when I sat in it. But coming from a Corvette... you definitely have a much sleeker and slimmer car, so I'd guess that's what you're used to? Ha I dunno. Everyone's got their own tastes though... I would never buy a car that I wasn't pleased with, so do what you gotta do

Funny - my household is split on this too

I really like the new look - but I also love the "swoopiness" of my old F-Body

The old Z28 F-Body looks fast standing still
The new Camaro looks like it will beat you up and leave you for dead.

My wife and daughter greatly prefer the more "organic" lines of the older car

But we will end up with both in the driveway since there is no way I have the heart to get rid of my old Z when the SS arrives - so all is good !

Everyone has different tastes. And that is okay.

My wife and I fell in love with the car. When she saw the first photos of the original concept, we talked. We didn't argue, we knew that this was going to be a beauty. When we went to our dealer last Friday evening, it was the first the first time she had actaully sat in the car. Other than her being short (5'6" versus my 6'7") she loved the car. Watch out for my Bride, cruising down the road! LOL

Well like the saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder,I wanted to find
a 69 camaro so bad when I was younger to restore not even knowing the potential value of the cars I just wanted one,and to now see what is the closest thing to the original as you can get,I will get this car and I was seriously considering getting a Harley but I can't put my kids on a bike

That's my sister-in-law's opinion, too. She, too, is a Texan. Though I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum, I guess it just demonstrates that everyone's got (and is entitled to) an opinion. If you don't like it, that's cool. For me, I LOVE it!

I saw the new Camaro for the first time in person yesterday to and i wasn't at all surprised at how completely amazing it looks and just the feeling of awe that was over me every time i glanced at it. I couldn't bring myself to leave the event till after they had put away both Camaro's. For me it's kinda like standing next to an LP640 or Enzo only quite a bit better. It also has something that neither of those cars have... an attainability factor.

Texas06c6 - Did the 2010 have the RS package? I have seen the car live both with and without the RS package, and I have to say to me the car was much better looking with the RS package. In fact, I did not really care for it without.

Peoples tastes are interesting. For instance, I have a C5 Z06 which I find gorgeous, yet I don't like the look of the C6 Corvette. Camaro is brutal looking...in a good way. Cannot wait to get my black SS/RS.
