If Im going into the store for under 15 minutes I just park in the Fire Lane... If its gonna be longer than 15 mins I usually wait until I see someone else parking at the exact same time and hope that Im done shopping b4 them. Leaves you with a 50% chance of the car on the opposite side to do damage.

I've got a cherry spot at work that is bordered on one side by a berm with plants and on the other, a walk area onto the sidewalk. Given that it's an office lot (and small at that), I'm in the clear. Only problem? A tree that has so far produced blossoming flowers that stick like the Dickens to my car when it rains.

I'm expecting flying feathered friends to target my car once they wake up from the winter. THAT, my friends, will likely be my issue. Pick your poison I suppose: deal with the hit, or deal with the @hit.

Otherwise, I count on my beloved America's desire to be lazy, ensuring that if I park a brisk 2 minute walk from a supermarket's front door, I'm probably in the clear because hey; that's just too far to walk for most people when picking up a gallon of milk, right?

(And honestly, I've seen people circle a parking lot for countless minutes while looking for a parking spot that is 2 spaces from a front door, but that's an off-topic discussion.)

You sir, deserve a ticket. Or maybe let the firetruck or ambulance just push you out of his way.

With that kind of attitudue, it wouldn't suprise me if you also use handicapped spots when you aren't elegible.

Guess its my turn. I work at a grocery store. I take the camaro every day. I park next to the manager who is my boss and his car keeps me pretty safe. He's a cool guy and wouldnt **** with my car. If I don't have him i park infront of the bank next to the store. If the traffic is over crouded I'm gonna go back to driving the sentra.

First off park as far out as you can, next, park at the top of a hill so no buggies roll down hill. Next, take up at least 2 spots, always park over the center of a line. Never go at night because of vandals, go in the morning when they are sleeping because they been out all night looting.

I'm a fireman and we can't wait for a fire and there be a car in the fire lane. were gunna run that 3' hose completely through that car... The only thing that will save you is you have a Camaro... Good luck with that fire lane thing

Its not that I just ride around looking for Fire Lanes. Its more of a gut feeling thing. You know when your having a bad day and you know when your having a good day. Sometimes I would rather take the chance at a 15$ ticket w/ 0 points instead of a 60-200$ PDR. And im not the type to park in Handicap spaces.

Why is it so many people think it's all about them? Being in a firelane could delay emergency response.
Your worry about a "thing" over the safety and possibly life of someone else is extremely selfish.
sheesh.
