HUH!!!??????????????????????????????//

They already started making the SS??????

I thought the SS was shelved and they were building the Z28 in its place along with the hud way back in March this year. I am going to believe the sales guy on this one. You forum peeps need to get your facts right.

Dear oh dear oh dear!! Where would be without quality salesmen like these!

Now! Now! We must be PC about it, the salesman is a Intellectually Deficient Idealistic Operations Technician that did know the facts!

I love sales people. Reminds me of when I called a dealership to talk about the Camaro and the guy on the phone said, "Oh yeah and we have an RS on the floor right now!"
me: "Oh really, is it on the LT or the SS model?"
him: "... its the RS."
me: "right, but what MODEL is it on?"
him: " ... let me transfer you to the Camaro guy."

Threads like this really piss me off...

Today, EVERYONE is on the Internet. You would think that all salespeople and dealers would be all over forums like Camaro5 and others. At the very least, the SMART sales people should be here. A forum like this is perfect when it comes to getting to know your (potential) customer, and therefore knowing how to sell.

What would you do in this scenario?

You:
"Hi! I'm here at your Chevy dealership because I'm interested in a Camaro. What can you tell me about it? And where can I learn more?"

Salesrep:
"Welcome! My name is Joeblow, here's my card. Camaro's are being built right now but demand is high. Let me show you what I can offer you. When you get home tonight, you should visit Camaro5.com and google other forums too. You'll find lots of enthusiasts like you who have lots of experiences to share. If I can get you the car that you want at a fair price and good delivery date, would you mind telling your new friends at Camaro5 about me? I would really appreciate the business!"

Now THAT my friends, is how to sell a frackin' car!

I'm fortunate that that is close to how the sales manager is at my dealership. He actually did mention Camaro5 when I was ordering my car. He's always had good information when I talk to him and he has never made up anything just to be saying something. We actually talked about how I just avoided the battery cable recall because my car was still at 3400 this week. The more horror stories about other dealers I read on here, the luckier I feel.

So for the sake of giving him credit, to date I have had a good, knowledgable experience working with Chris Brown at Friendly Chevrolet in Springfield, IL.

When my wife and I were looking to buy her Tahoe a year and a half ago we were asking about the hybrid that was about to come out as well as the Camaro, the first dealership we walked into we found several "salesmen" sitting at a table drinking coffee and talking, generally making no effort to help us. The one guy who finally decided to get off his butt couldn't answer any questions at all, he didn't know anything about the hybrid, and didn't think that Chevy made the Camaro any more... told us he would take our number and give us a call if he got any information ... we did look at the Tahoe LTZ while we were there ( didn't like the fake woodgrain ) but we did like the car, not the "salemen" who still couldn't answer any questions about the Tahoe... wtf ? The car is on your lot, is not a new vehicle, you are sitting on your butt with nothing to do, I think it's time to learn about the product you are trying to sell !!!

The second dealer we went to was Hanlee's in Davis, we has friends who had bought cars from them and had good experiences so we went there and gave it a try. Different experience all together ! We talked to a sales person there who knew the Tahoe really well, showed us things the other guy never would have figured out, and in the long run we ended up buying an 3LT Z71 with all the bells and whistles, paid cash for the car and have been taken care of very well ever since. We have placed our order for our Camaro with them ( first allocation , just dumb luck, we were at their door on Oct. 13th waiting for them to open !), and will continue to do business with them for years to come just because of their great customer service. I wish all dealerships were this good !

I get the feeling that the first dealership we went to would be one of those dealerships that would be the ones that would be giving out bad info, or selling cars they don't have or something else stupid..... oh, and yes, they did call us back on the Tahoe, six months after we bought ours, three months after the hybrid came out. We told them we found a dealership that really wanted our busiiness and who bothered to know their product !

Yeah, I've already decided I won't be ordering from this dealership. First I was pissed when they didn't bother to invite me to the Camaro Reveal event they had on Wednesday even though I've talked with them numerous times to find out when they'd would get their floor model in and now with this idiot of a sales rep telling me this load of crap I'm going to be buying elsewhere. I'll go ahead and plug Jason Spiek at Heartland Chevrolet in Liberty, MO. Not only did he call me last week before the car was even off the truck, he's very excited about the car too and knew what he was talking about and also made sure to send me an email this morning for the Camaro kick off they were having today. I guess it's like all business out there...some make sure they hire reps that will work with and support their customers and other scrape the bottom of the barrel.

So the SS i looked at on wed in FL was not real even though i saw the motor and sat in it. This is mind blowing, virtual reality has really come a long way.

Been driving my IBM 2SS Auto for 12 days. Got 500 miles on it. Jee, I sure thought it was a V8. I know I posted for wanting a little more pep out of it, but maybe I should check again to see if it actually is a V8 since they are not building them. Go to another salesperson. If ANY salesperson lies to you, take your business elsewhere at once and I am in the sales line part time.

It really is amazing, one thing not to know another to totally pull some out their a**! Anything to sell a car or should say anything to lose a sale!
