engine dyno
I believe you can hit 7k rev limit on 1st gear and 2nd gear even if the car was speed limited from the factory because of the 18" tires. I believe it's gears 3-6th where you can't get pass 100 something mph which leave you before 7k rpm. I'm not a 100% since I never had to deal with speed limiter since mine is the RS package. Maybe someone who been through this speed limit thing can confirm, but I'm sure is no different between a LLT and LFX. |

bmorecam, I believe you misspoke on your last post. 2012 1LS Camaros come stock with 28.5 in.dia. tires.

Every v6 camaro that come from the factory with 18" wheels/tires are limited to 118 MPH. This is because those 18" tires are not rated to go that fast. So due to liability issue they come with a speed limiter. Now if you have 19" or 20" wheels and tires from factory, than you have no speed limiter. RS models come with 20" wheels and tires.

those numbers arnt too bad here mine from tnt performance dyno day now this was with an LLT with mods in sig. so id be pretty happy with a 250+ base

Or run it in 3rd gear and it won't be an issue at all. My car made 4 pulls on the dyno yesterday - first two the numbers were drastically lower and the tuner realized he was hitting the speed limiter. The 3rd and 4th pull he did in 3rd gear. Topped out at 270rwhp/232tq.

yup tune for the LS was a must. hit 118 far to many times to count. and u cant hit redline, nor can you rev as loud and furoucious as you can on factory computer
