Ehh. Wouldn't be the first time.

I get stuff like this all the time but I NEVER post any of the info I get from them unless it's already public knowledge.

And epic to everyone complaining that the car isn't a "stripper car." FFS, it's 2012. Selling a car without A/C or a radio or center console is what the Japanese and Koreans do so they can advertise their cars at a super low price that nobody can buy them for because no dealer is dumb enough to stock a stripped-down POS. GM would get bashed to hell and back if they sold a stripper Camaro, especially if the Boss Laguna Seca is their primary target with the 1LE.

Well, SuperMod, since you brought up the Monkees...

I think it's time to rewrite the title of one of their early hits...

"I'm a ZEE-liever"!

We could make that the "Official Theme Song/Anthem of the House of Z"

Mac, we need a vote (after all, it IS 2012...).

I am just going to sit here and be quiet, no need to get all craz and ask

WHERE IS THE Z/28

Everything will be fine.

Ok so love the idea of bringing out the 1LE nameplate but why not the Z/28 nameplate. What else can we be waiting for to use it?

Don't get me wrong I really like the 1LE and as more info comes out I know it will be almost everything I am looking for, but I am left wondering what they will use the Z28 nameplate for?????????

If they are not going to use it for the 5th gen, why wont they tell us that and why? I know that most likely nothing can be said to why but it seems odd the Chevy would not use one of its most important and still most sought after nameplates.

It could use more grunt. There has to be a GMPP P/N for the new INDY Car crate engines

BTW, nice start to Chevrolet with 1st and 3rd at St Petersburg and 5 out of ten in the top ten.

(thought I'd leave this here as well)

STOP THE PRESSES!

Now that I've had time to digest what has taken place I believe more than ever before that there will be a 5Gen Z28.

Why?

Because the 1LE is not its own nameplate, but an option on the SS. This allows for another nameplate to be introduced. It also allows for a reasonable priced upgrade over the SS for the more performanced based customer with a little extra change.

Also the facts that the 1LE has NO MRC or that the Braking system in the 1LE is a 4/4 design and not a 6/4 design as shown on the show car. Why after Fbod said in the poll for the 1LE "AS SHOWN"? Very Smart GM, saving the MRC and the 6/4 Brakes for the Z28. And add to it that Fbod said "we are never done" (read between the lines).

I believe more than ever that the 5Gen Z28 will come to fruition!!!

You were spot on until you got to the MRC.

MRC is an amazing technology that Chevrolet has integrated into the ZL1 to deliver incredible all round performance. In a track car you want to be able to change coil rates and spring rates. IMO

What do you get when you take GMPP's aggressive ASA camshaft - developed for the high-rpm world of circle-track racing - and slip it into an LS3 6.2L engine? The answer is 525 horsepower in one of our most powerful production-based crate engines - the new LS376/525.
The ASA camshaft is a hydraulic roller with .525-inch lift on both sides, along with 226 degrees duration on the intake side and 236 degrees on the exhaust side. Coupled with a tight, 110-degree lobe separation angle, it helps the engine deliver excellent throttle response and breath exceptionally well at high rpm. And for durability, we complement the cam with higher-rate valve springs.
Warning: This simple yet effective combination has an edge to it. You'll notice it in the idle quality and you'll feel it when the revs quickly climb. With 20 more horsepower than the larger-displacement LS7, it's definitely not for the timid!
You'll need tuning to make the most of the engine in a late-model GM vehicle. If you plan to use the LS376/525 in a vintage car, you'll need controller kit #19259261, which includes the throttle pedal to match its electronically controlled throttle body. Check out our LS1 Engine Kit Installation Guide for details on installing an LS engine in a vintage vehicle.
I still think this would make a good z motor.
