Hmmmm we have a trend going, I wonder if the other rear mount users have the same issue....

But same here at 5-6.5psi sometimes it happens and other times it doesnt but anything over 6.5psi it happens everytime even though AFR's are good.

Ya it's weird cause the warning never showed up again. It was noticeably weaker, so I just hope it gets better. And you'd say the .81ar would be a big difference? Does that require a new tune or is it just replaced? And is it something that would be easy to do yourself or should I stick with the pros?

Well, I just replaced the housing no new tune or anything. I had to turn down the boost though from 7+psi because the afr's got too high 11.9 to 12:3 at full throttle. With previous housing at 7+psi my afrs never went above 11.5 even at below freezing temps.

As for the question to if you should replace, i guess it depends on what type of driving you do. I drive 80% on the highway so the increased mpg and extra highway pull is a big plus for me. The sts kit is pretty beastly already and their up-pipe system is better designed so you might not have as much back pressure issues as mine (I have crush bent turbo uppipes and stock exhaust and manifold) but still a larger housing never hurts if you have the money. If you don't like the change in lag and powerband just switch it out in 15 mins. Also if you aim for big power in the future, having the bigger housing will be ideal.

You could do it yourself as its very easy. You just remove the six 13mm bolts holding the housing and then bolt the new housing on. However taking it to a shop should be cheap, it should be less than an hour of labor since the turbo is easily accessible. I timed my self when I did it and with all tools ready it took me 25 minutes to swap without jacking the car up.

Ok I would like to probably do that since I will be going to college next year and will be doing a lot of highway driving back and forth so I would most likely do that. You order it through sts?

You should talk to your tuner too and see what they recommend for turbine housing size. I bought mine direct from precision. I don't know what brand turbo sts uses so I can't help you there. I know STS uses a T4 housing with a P Trim turbine wheel but there are many different trims of a P wheel. There is the 63 trim, 76 trim, 52 trim ect. I have a 76 trim ptrim wheel so I needed to buy a 76 trim, ptrim .81ar t4 turbine housing. Thats why I say call STS because they should know all of the finer details of your turbo and guide you in the right direction.

So apparently the stock fuel pump can't handle it and It would have to get a meth kit to get to 400rwhp and that's what cars have been having to do. However, a company is coming out with an upgraded fuel pump that can even get the car to 430-440! The company said that it will be out in 60-90 days. He said they will tune it to the 370 mark they had it before but I think it's definitely worth the wait rather than having to deal with a meth injection kit. This pump can really help some people out!

So you are saying that there's a aftermarket company that is coming out with upgraded fuel pump for the V6 camaro??

Who is the company?

He said there are two that are, because there is becoming a demand for it. One is called Aeromotive, and I cannot remember the other one. The Aeromotive company is close to where I live, but I will write down the other company tomorrow and let you know. I know it is a pretty well known company that makes other fuel pumps.

It needs to deliver over 2400 PSI and there areno electric ones that Iknow of that can come close. What weneed is adirect bolt on replacement plunger style that runs off the intake cam on the drivers side cylinder head.

Ya they said it is a replacement that you bolt on. It isn't a crappy one like people have made in the past. This thing is legit and will eliminate the need for a meth kit while also getting more power. It'll be worth the wait for me!

Ya that's what I'm thinking. I might go conservative at first and get 410-20, but it claims you can get 430-40

Tested it out last night, Had a blast, but havent got to really test it out like ive liked because the weather has been pretty bad this week, but it is clearing up this weekend. The sound on this thing is just monsterous and really turns head, sounds like a beast.bWhen I get it next week expect some videos of various things. But in the meantime ask me anything you'd like!
