I was thinking about getting a Camaro until I saw this thread, then I researched Corvettes. I love the camaro but these cars selling at sticker will tank in value in a year as already noted in this thread. Researching prices I find I can put double the miles on my new ( old ) Corvette and sell it for just about the same price I bought it for. Not to mention this thing is a pure race car, I can not put into words how a Corvette drives.

I did catch it needed to be a Z51, and she is

Most important any new Camaro owners want to trade for a day PM me I am game 100%, a camaro owner would not regret this ( well you may regret you got a Camaro, lol )

.
Yes, all that you say is true. But there are a lot of people that won't buy a vette because of one reason, and one reason alone...There are only two seats... Yes, It is going to be faster, Yes, It is going to handle better. Yes, it is an amazing car, BUT! And this is a very big BUT! The fact that it only has two seats makes the car undesirable to most buyers..

sorry for bumping an old thread.

im in the same boat as some of you guys. i've owned 3 4th gen Camaros already, in a row, and i love what they have been all about. To me a Camaro is a more practical vette, because it has a back seat and more trunk space. However, IMO, the 2010 Camaro is different from the 4th gens because now its huge and heavy. I sat in a 2010 Camaro and i felt like i was in a sedan, not to mention the low visibility.

I was never really into vettes because i dont really like their exterior styling, and they also have that certain stereotype. Aside from me not liking the exterior, i also am not too happy with the lack of back seat and trunk space, although i hardly ever use my back seat or trunk in my 4th gen camaro anyway, but to me it feels like its a missing feature. But there is something that vettes have which camaros will never have, which is the prestigious image, and a ***** magnet.

As of right now im still in the middle between vette and camaro. Vette has that prestige image, and camaro well.. while it looks cool, this will not last when there is as many of them on the road as the rustangs. The camaro seems like a big heavy car in GM had to sacrifice some important things such as visibility to get that added "cool" factor.

Im waiting till November to make my decision which will be based on test driving both cars and comparing prices and features and based on how many recalls the new camaro gets by then. However, if i can find a good deal on a z06 im definetly going to buy the z, because i know it will hold its value well, and its a helluva car.

^^^^

I hear you on the back seats (I am looking to add a camaro for the back seats) but I think the trunk in my vette is quite a bit bigger than the camaro. Haven't pulled the specs, but I can fit a ton of stuff in the back of my car.

I agree. No contest honestly.... especially if you're considering a Z06. The Corvette is the flagship afterall.

Buy both! I have had a late model C4 (LT1) for 8 years now. And plan on buying an SS. The Vette will maintain it's garage position (it's my baby). Anyways a late model low mileage C4, or C5 can be had CHEAP right now.

I am debating this right now. Been wanting a 06/07 ZO6 Lemans blue for a while. Been a Vette guy. Owned 2.

My son is really getting into into cars. He spots a late model Zo6. The problem is 2 seat. My previous vettes sat in the garage more often. When we went out for say a sunday family drive. We took the family car.
I am thinking Camaro 2SS/RS loaded up. Decision would be easier if the LS7 was available.

I still have to sit in a new Camaro. Not sure if I really like the dash. Have to see it in person.
