It's quicker than the majority of old muscle cars and gets nearly 3 times the mileage I'm happy for you but I had to go with the V8. I think only the COPOS or Yenkos were as quick as the new V6 the 4rth gens V8s were faster. The only thing that blows off the door to all those was the ZL1. Only something like 69 made, the 2010 SS is the fastest mass production camaro ever made and thats including the ZL1.

well the v6 does have 300hp, which nothing to sniff at and is only 30 less then my WS6, but i dont know about torque. I mean the V6 is 7 less but it can be scamp on some things. You might be able to soup it up, but a a 3.6 with out a charger or turbo that engine is pushing the most it can. The V8 does get good gas though.

i beg to differ, because in MI and NY where i have lived V8 sports cars DO not drive in the winter, im sorry it doesnt happen. And if you cant afford a beater for a winter car, then i would rethink buying a brand new car to being with.

Hey boss, please stop saying "this is just my opinion" and then speaking for the entire northern half of the country and all of Canada. I have lived in Mi all my life, and I WILL be driving this in the winter. Maybe not in the snow, but I certainly will be enjoying those heated seats quite a bit.

Also, I don't care if anyone thinks bluetooth & the other features are "cool" when they check the car out; they're there for convenience. I would not want to try to drive this car with a manual and talk on a cell phone at the same time. The bluetooth is a life saver. I pretty much use every feature that came with my 2SS, and I'm happy I coughed up the extra $4k that seems so difficult for some people around here.

Oh, and StoutFiles hit the nail on the head with his response.

I live in Cali and my husband has a Trailblazer SS. It has leather heated seats that we use on a cold day here. He also drives it rain or shine as I will do with my Camaro. It all depends on your likes and dislikes.......either way hope you enjoy your car when you get it. We also went to 2 dealers locally and either dealer we ordered from said delivery of our car would be in Sept. as long as things didnt change with GM. Hope you get your car in July like your dealer said......that would be cool.

I live in Sweden for gods sakes, we get quite a bit of snow every winter, so I know how it is! The roads are always very well cleared and when they are not, it's a freaking snowstorm so bad that only Humvees and big ole Dodge Rams can get trough. And I don't drive under such conditions in any case.

As for the power, I've driven a car that has a bit of power and doesn't even have traction control or stability control for every winter since I got my license five years ago (also did the main portion of my training and took the license during winter), and while it's been close at times because of extremly crappy weather, I've made it trough. Hell I've driven cars with way more power, RWD and no traction control or stability control several times during snowy winters and I've made it out fine. The thing do is simply to take it easy, don't be a in a rush, don't drive like a maniac, and respect the powers of mother nature.

So yeah I'm pretty confident that I'll manage to drive this car in snow, just get a good set of winter tires, take it easy, never ever take off StabiliTrak, and cruise on. Plenty of people around here drive new cars during winter and are fine.

And once again I find it utterly hilarious that I, the non-native English speaker, have way better language skills then many native English speakers. Tips to follow: when speaking about yourself you write "I" with a capital letter, and things like " ' " in words like "I'm" is also useful, oh and it's spelt "begin" not "being".

I leave you with a heartful, In My Opinion

I am not sure how old you are, but it has not been that long (30 years front wheel started to come into existence) since almost all cars were rear wheel drive. How did we get along? We drove our cars. We learned what to do and what direction to turn the wheel when we hydroplaned or started sliding. Most of the time we were successful and some times not. We got good at driving our cars.

Today, many people are lazy, and do not know there vehicles. They can drive them daily, but if something were to happen they would not know how to drive it. They use technology while driving, and have no regard for their own safety yet alone someone elses.

I want the C&C package, I like heated leather (live in northern Va). I will take the 2SS in the snow to a parking lot to learn how to drive a rear wheel car again. Just as I did when I started driving in all my rear wheel cars (74 malibu classic, 77 Nova, 78 Z28, 74 Mercury Montego SW...dads). I wont have this car as a daily driver, but when I do drive it the technology will benefit me.

I am getting a 2SS w/RS, and I will enjoy directing the car towards a crowd and turning on the light to show how BAD A^S the car is. It is tough. Those who do not get the RS will have a mean looking car also, just not the added UMPH! IMO...

I look forward to you getting your car. Enjoy it knowing you got what you wanted, and when you see others respect their decisions to drive their cars the way they saw fit. Good luck getting your car quickly. I look forward to seeing pictures when you get it.

The very fact that you automatically assume that I think I am better then you since I commented on your language, tickles me to no end.

I just think that it's...intresting that in a country where English is the main language, there seems to be far too many that don't speak it that well. I by no means put all of this in you, no no dear boy there are far worse examples.

Also I find it intresting that instead of actually responding to the brunt of my post (the language thing was just a bit at the end after all), you chose to simply say that since you invented those things, thereby implying that you are indeed better then me and I should just take that.

Now here it is that we reach the core of it all: I can like things both Swedish, European, American, and even (gasp!) Japanese. It is my choice and opinion to do so. I like Swedish girls, extremly pretty and lots of them around. I like European cities, fascinating melting pots of culture.

And I love American cars. I love the sound of a big V8, the sensation of RWD, and the muscular styling of a muscle car like the Camaro, the Challenger and yes even the Mustang. And I love the country. I visited far too briefly a few years back and found it very charming with lots of great food, big open roads, a different pace from my home country and lots of nice people. So I am no America hater.

As for the Japanese bit, not so much the cars, but I love quite a bit of the pop culture, big anime and manga fan.

Also apart from a lot of people on this site I'm pretty liberal in my political views. Without turning this into a political discussion I will only say that while I do not agree with some of the polital views presented here from time to time, that does not mean I do not respect the men who have them.

And now I come to my main point, the most important thing is to respect that people have other views then your own. That you may differ in opinion from someone, maybe think something...not very polite about them, but be able to accept that they have a different view from you and respect them still.

To end on something a bit more on topic, you do know that the Camaro underwent rigorous winter testing in northern Sweden last winter? In deep snow, six inches easily. And it performed splendidly.

Peace out and good luck with your car man

Don't know why we have all of the vehicle choices we have today. We should just go back to horse and buggy days. Then there is the problem what kind and color of horse to get..... Some people like bells and whistles and others do not. Pleasing all of the public is nearly impossible to GM gives us options to fit our individual desires. I prefer bells and whistles over plain and simple.

Totally uncalled for. Stop trying to push your opinion and then try to generalize people by region, like you just did there. Also, please let the GM Engineers know that they are clueless and they do not know how to drive in snowy conditions when they did Winter testing in Northern Europe.

Just because YOU cannot drive in those conditions does not many that NO ONE can. But then again, why am I trying to tell you anything, you already know it all.

this, is a very odd post. i mean, how dare they give you a chance to get the exact car you wanted. i mean, i guess gm has too many options all together...they should only one color, one engine, one feature pack to go along with their one truck style, one car style, and one SUV style. and of course the option of buying a Chevy, buick, GMC, or Cadillac should also be eliminated. and then, all of the car companies should merge, all, as in every car company in the world. and have three cars only.

i mean, really? options are good. and i have never heard of complaining about too many options. so to be honest, this whole thread kinda blew my mind. they are trying to please the largest number of people possible. thats the reason for options and diversity of car styles. And as far as a "muscle car" shouldnt have these luxuries....the camaro was not intended to be justtt a muscle car. its soo much more. its a very state of the art sports car for the price you are paying.

just think if GM hadnt offered them,
instead of having one person complain, there would be thousands.
