Yes it is.

I'm sure there are a few examples of some being poorly driven that give the impression that they are not faster. But the SRT8 is most definately the faster car.

Hmm the new MT had a 2010GT edge out the Challenger. If I remember, they were even in 1/4, and the Stang destroyed it on the agility for the track. The Maro and Stang outperformed the Challenger in a lot of tests actually..

The placing was
1. Maro
2. GT (dam near a photo finish the article said)
3. Challenger

In the end, drive what you love, and the hell with articles.

Just got my motortrend mag, good read..

Quote:
Motortrend june 2009 Pony Car War!:
"Finishing in second place...Ford Mustang GT. Mind you, this was a photo finish.
The Mustang with the track pack blew us all away with its sublime steering,
incredible front-end grip, stylish cockpit, and beauteous V-8.
As Losh notes, "Ford's two competitors had the advantage of sampling 45 years of Mustang DNA, Yet they still couldn't pull out a runaway win."

"The best steering in an american car. Ever."

"That GT turns-in like a race car" was our communal opinion after our mountain romps"

"Biggest surprise here, I thought the camaro would leave the Mustang in a ditch, but i was genuinely surprised at how capable the mustang is."

"The GT comes in with a neck bending 0.95g on the skidpad, and faster in the figure eight than the camaro with a 25.5"
SoFlaZ jessus christ man, i think i saw it move.

It's gonna come after you, beware. The green machine doesn't play around.

How come your fog lights are in the middle? Do they come like that on the CS? I thought it was a v6 at first then you bought GT lights to stick on it but now I see its a GT/CS.

Oh ok. I just need a job so I can get a Camaro and get rid of this pile, its great for A to B but its not going to cut if for much longer lol.

Back to the topic, Camaro still won but the mustang is still impressive. Is are any of the steering components different from a regular GT and one with track pack?

Nope just springs and struts. not sure if there may be a new panhard bar or sway bar.

That was on one test. Go see the Chargers and 300's if you want to look at the full track record of what that platform can do more often than not.

***The new 2010 Roush has a sticker price of $52,000+, then the dealer mark up of whatever.

Point being take a $36,000 2SS Camaro, Drop $15,000 in it and watch it run circles around your Roush for less money.
