A little background before I dig into this one.....I have 13 years in law enforcement. I am a crash investigator. I am a certified traffic crash reconstructionist and do "side work" for several insurance companies. I have been involved in several studies for vehicle crash safety standards. I have also worked a study involving vehicle speed vs. telephone poles. I have investigated 67 fatal crashes, and approximately 1400 other crash incidents. I have created a program for new teen drivers that is in ADDITION to their Driver's Education classes. Enough about me.............

Issue #1 The OP stated the other driver was 20 years old. He is no longer his parents responsibility. Why are we harping about getting lawyers and going after his parents? This guy was not a teenager and should not be treated as such.

Issue #2 Teenage driving - how safe is it? I can only speak from what I have seen. Out of 67 fatal crashes I have been involved in, only 6 have involved teenage drivers. 3 were the other driver's fault. I don't have the exact #s, but in my experience the 20-30 year old segment are involved in more injury related crashes. Teenagers are involved in more "fender bender" types of crashes. Teenage girls are worse than teenage boys.

Issue #3 The Crash. Even before the telephone pole revelation, I could say for certain that the crash did not happen like we have been led to believe. A rear end crash with #1 going 25 mph being hit by #2 going 40mph does not result in the damage pictured. That result would have been more of just a bumper crush and a little into the rear deck lid. Without seeing both cars, or any physical evidence at the scene it would be hard to determine speed or other factors. What I do know is that the OP, if it really is his car, was not traveling 25 mph when he hit the pole or tree or whatever it was. The question is what happened prior to impact to send him into it backwards?
My guess is road racing and he got clipped and sent off the road.
They are CRASHES, not ACCIDENTS. Accidents imply no fault, there is alway fault.

New Camaro owner gets on the street with his new toy and just has to prove its worth. Dusting a Challenger, driving 176 , and who know what else. My story continues with new Camaro owner running across a car of young teenagers and they also decide to race. New 2010 Camaro SS is way more car and he blows by and pulls in front with ease, but runs out of road or decides to slow it down. Big Brembo brakes slow camaro down in a really big hurry, to 25 MPH, but Ford in back does not have big Brembo brakes coupled with inexperienced driver and does not even stand a chance. The brake for the Ford is the tail end of a shiny new Camaro.

There are just too many things not adding up. I also find it hard, if not impossible to believe that this guy will get a second Camaro to trash and wreck before most even get their first. I also want to check my meter on that one.

Maybe my story is a fairy tale, but my guess is that if the truth be known, this is probably pretty close to what went down. I am almost positive Camaro driver did not realize the stopping power of the brakes in his machine and closed a gap too fast for any other car to respond to.

Please keep that in mind when driving and someone is on your tail. I assure you, you can stop much faster than they can.
lmao would love 2 meet u in person though lol

I really don't think he is talking about the car. I think he is more referring to the irresponsible driver of it.

Let's just say the evidence supports his claim.

Why is it so hard for everyone to believe that a 2010 Camaro can be had in a few days? There are 3 dealerships around me that have 1-2 sitting on the lot. I could go buy one right now if I wanted to or had the money to.

So let me get this straight.... "I was just putting along at 25 MPH when WHAMMM out of nowhere this Ford Escape hits me from behind." Ya RIGHT!

I too would love to see the accident report...cause unless it was the cop's first day on the job or perhaps on the planet I doubt he/she would be buying what this guy is selling.

Anyone know the age of the Camaro owner?
