The Specialists on Broadway did mine in less than an hour. They get a lot of business from O'Reilly Chevy down the street so they have the tint already cut and the kid that did mine was flexible enough to get in the backseat with out difficulty!

I see the meeting is at 7pm. Will anyone want to be there at 6pm for dinner as we usually do? If so, I am in for 6pm chow. I'm sure Big Sis will accompany me!

The plan is to eat dinner during the meeting at 7.

Hello, the name is Houston. I am in the Air Force and stationed at Luke in Glendale, AZ. I just recently bought a Camaro and I was looking for a little "guidance" on the smart things to do, performance wise. I am planning to put the MRT (Version 1 or 2, I don't know yet) Axle-Back exhausts on pretty soon, plus a cold air intake. Not doing to much right off the bat.. So that's just my start. What would be some good long term goals for my car? [2012 Camaro RS (V6)] Thanks for your time gentlemen.

The best place to start with on any engine is breathing, assuming you don't want to void your warranty by changing your tuning. It all depends on how far you want to take it. A cold air induction and open exhaust system can make a notable difference. Do your research on both. The right combination will compliment each other and provide better results. Several of the folks on our thread have V6's, and can give you some recommendations. There's also a whole forum area on V6 performance on this site.

You may also talk to the Camaro folks in your area. Some still hang around on Camaro5, but you'll find most from the Phoenix area at the link below;

Congrats on your new ride, and thanks for your service!

At this point in time I believe that the 2012s are rather limited for performance modifications. As I know of there are CAI inc. induction systems available for the LFX and the MRT does sound pretty good in person, The v6 bolt on section should have more information.

Some good long term goals for most of the v6 members that I have met are just keeping the fuel economy while maintaining a decent amount of power. I know of a few members in which they are running around 340-360hp at the crank and 35 miles per gallon on the highway. If you want to dive into anything Cosmetic modifications are ever growing in popularity.

Hi Houston. I am also in the AF stationed at DM. I just recently installed a Vararam intake and what a difference it makes. The improvement in sound and performance is amazing. However, I don't believe Vararam has an intake yet for the 12's. As Bodih said, breathing is a great start. I was also looking at the MRT until I heard Taintedveins new Cherry Bomb. A full catback for 399 as opposed to an axleback for 499. My advice is to research on the forums and try to go out to Camaro gatherings so you can check out mods in person and talk to other owners. 95% of what I know about my car is from researching from other Camaro owners. The sky is the limit with our Camaros and you must decide what works best for you.

Good luck to you and feel free to ask any other questions. We have a bunch of wonderful people here who love to talk about Camaros and are willing to help. Welcome to the 5th Gen family.

Dave

Thank you all for the information. It has been a big help. I am not that good with cars, but I hope to grow a broader view about mine.

Thanks Bodih! Appreciate that.
Thank you Dave for your service as well! Glad to be serving with you.

So UPS just set my LED taillights by the front door. I'll be in the garage the rest of the night...
