Thumbs up SS owners and ONLY SS owners......

What are your thoughts on other than the "mail slot" and badges, someone can buy a 6 cylinder version and look just about like an SS does? I'd rather the 4 pack gauges be only for the SS and maybe a different spoiler or something. They ALL look great, but I'd like a lil difference. Thank god theres no stripe package on 6 cylinders! Or is there???

People can try to look the part all they want. But when they mash the gas they won't last!

I'm a poet and didn't even know it!!

You can get the 4 pack and the stripes on any trim as an option. The only thing exclusive to the SS is the front mail slot and wider facia.

For me it's about what is under the hood. The v6 is nice and I don't care if it looks just like an SS! I'm sure a few SS will borrow the Z/28 look when it hits!

All the stripe packages available on the SS are available on the LT. Also, there are some LT specific things like highwing spoiler, heated engine block, cheap cost, fuel economy, etc.

I like little differences too. but it's true that anyone can and probly will try to look the part. I knew a guy in high school that had a 69 chevelle ss with an inline 6. He put every SS look alike thing on the car including the SS badge. I just about kille him. All he ever did was get wooped by everything else on the street.....oh sorry for the near high jack. But little differences are cool.

I really don't care, it's what's underneath the hood that counts.

Front and rear fascia make the real difference.
Not a cheap upgrade to just "fake the funk"

The V6 has to be a marketing success (sell in big numbers) for the Camaro to be successful. I believe they should make them ALL great cars with the powertrain being the biggest difference -- so they did it right.

You don't need it in the face.
The important part, the big difference is under the hood.
That's where I like it.

Just my thoughts.. but way back when it was just a concept and I was thinking that all trims would look the same (don't know why I thought they'd look the same), I was gonna de-badge mine so no one would know what it was til I opened it up. And by opening it up, I don't mean lifting the hood!

I'm with you - there's not enough difference between the V8 and V6 appearance-wise. I still can't really tell the difference from the back, and only the mail slot gives it away in the front.

And yes, the stripe package is available both on the 2SS and the 2LT models (I just looked that up on www.chevrolet.com - hehe).

It's only my opinion, but I'm allowed to have one - I think when you pay $7K more for the V8, it ought to be more noticeable than it is. In the old days, you had the big bold Z28 or IROC stripes, and that was definitely noticeable. I liked it that way.

SS has a broader chin and larger "mouth" as my daughter would say.

I am sure some folks will go against the V6 and think it was a V8 and maybe have a close thing and then get fright of their life when they meet an actual SS.

All good fun.

Only other thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is that I think the V6 has slightly smaller exhaust tips, but not enough to notice it without seeing a V6 and V8 next to each other. Sure made it easy with the 4th gens to spot a V6 cause of the single exhaust tip. Anything can be changed though. But once they fire it up that's the only thing that will be a dead give away no matter what is done.

It would be nice for more differences, but in all honsety I agree that making the LT's just as good looking on the outside helps the SS cause all SS owners will need the V6 sales if we want the 5th gen to turn into a 6th gen. That's why everyone needs to the V6 owners. Cause I wouldn't mind owning a 6th gen Z28 someday
