Please see other posts regarding same topic.

This is not about total tank MPG.

Go to other threads to post about that topic as this is a completely different topic. Thanks.

I would guess that if the OP does the same test under the same conditions temp, speed, resetting the DIC at the same time after he installs the Varaam he should be able to tell if it makes any difference in the MPG's under those conditions.

Now will that tell him a CAI will improve his overall MPG's no but it should give him some information to digest for the test he did.

This is usually because a lot of CAIs aren't really CAIs.

A HAI usually improves mileage. A CAI decreases it, as all of your accelerations are faster and use more fuel (even with cruise control on, making up for small and slight variances). The car doesn't adjust to this, and if it has "more power" to work with, it's going to accelerate faster, which is going to use more fuel. If your CAI doesn't actually improve power at all because it's not really a CAI, then you might even see some gains.

Just a quick update: My daily commute to work has been detoured due to interstate construction. Maybe 3 more weeks and I'm back to tracking it again. Maybe in the hotter weather we'll see some difference.
