Hey guys, so I bought my Vararam no-tune model about a year ago and I'm finally getting a tune!! So I was thinking I would cut out the wire mesh inside the intake to mod it and make it like the tune model! What do you think about this? If I decide to do it I'll post pics and show you how it looks. Any input?

Don't do it. The mesh helps straighten out the flow across the MAF. As far as I know it was the sahpe of the opening and not the mesh that was the difference between the tune and no tune, but I could be wrong. With such a short distance for the air to travel it seems the mesh is a great idea. Better yet, call Vararam and ask them. Steve and the guys at VR are really helpful and know their product best.

Sounds like a good idea. I can give them a call today maybe and let you know what they think.

And as far as my understanding goes the mesh was put in the no-tune model to make the MAF sensor read closer to usual stock readings. I think I've read that here before.

Looks like it is a combo of things. I remembered the eliptical neck but the not the honeycomb. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=37
