Its one of the most advanced available. HOWEVER there were talking about technology that is found inside the car. so basically, sat nav and dual zone aircon, is what they chose over the power. and looks are subjective, so i wont throw those into the mix, i prefer the camaros looks, but they prefer the stang. and its all good.

well, if drag resistance stay constant one you hit 70, my 95 camaro LT had a theoretical top speed of 170. but, its drag limited to about 125...drag is a huge thing, it can make or break a car, and i really doubt the camaro has much less drag
I agree one hundred percent ... love that damn engine

Yeah I can bury the speedometer of my car too, and I have done it many times, but I am also at 314 rwhp. I live in Germany so I can do this legally and often....

I have nearly an extra 50 rwhp over a stock 05-09 Mustang GT, and when I take my car to this range I would find it hard to believe that even I achieved 165mph with the extra power...but you and I both know the speedometer ends at about 150mph.....so maybe I actually have been up to 165 mph or beyond and I just didn't realize...but again I am not stock. I am assuming you had GPS or some kind of navigation to measure 165mph

I guess it is just hard to believe given the drag coefficient of 0.38 and only 300bhp....I think I'd have to see it personally.

EDIT: However, I will admit that I am more convinced by real world evidence than magazines, because I hate magazine racing and taking car mags as the gospel.

So again what is the point of technology (4.6 SOHC V8) that offer 0 benefits I.E. less power, less torque, less fuel efficient and more expensive to modify if you are seeking big hp?
i assume you mean a cam and LTs... thats not street legal, at least in the places i live. from what i remember, a hot rod cam, LTs and tune (you would need to tune the LS as well) would see similar "net gains" on the mustang's 4.6.

i did followup in the thread and hard numbers haven't been released; we are all hoping for about 550whp

OOOOOOH SNAP!!!!

Dude, that's because instead of the memo, they gave your car another 200bhp to start out with

"Drag limited to 150 mph" would really vary with things like wind, barometric pressure, road grip, probably even humidity. There's nothing too surprising about a +/-20 range.

It was still electronically limited to 155 from the factory.

I realize that, but I was only talking about the GT not the GT500 and its extra 200 bhp to muscle through the air resistance; once you clear the electronic limiter with a SCT or Predator tuner.

This is a really a useless point anyway.

The original point is that the Mustang is not redline limited.....whether it is drag limited at 147 mph, 151 mph, or 165 mph....a stock or near stock Mustang GT just doesn't have the power to carry it to 6000 rpm in 5th gear.
