A 12.5 is embarrassing for the ZL1 considering all the hype. But in reality any car that runs a 12.5 is pretty darn quick!!

http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...t/viewall.html
those are very rare results though. that test is what I would consider a best test. For ever restult like this there is one were someone ran worse. I have even seen 12.8's in print. All in all ther cars will run similar times no mather what happens. low 12's to high 11's maybe a freak result here or there. Yet one sucks and one is awesome. it is called bias and it makes me laugh.

I think some people just have this broken personality where they have to be best and if there not they will find a way to be. when in reality there is no best just different cars.

Wow. So this car has about 40-50 more hp than my bolt on Ss according to the mph. Miserable. Glad I didn't order one

Im sure the car will get stronger and stronger as the time passes. The ZL1 auto cant be that slow. In Al Oppenhieser's simulations runs, the auto ZL1 was quicker than a manual ZL1 and Im doubting a manual ZL1 will ran more than 12.0s at the strip with stock supercar tires iN a bad day. Also, the LS motors has this unique characteristic of producing more power after some miles. And w/ the UP in HP after 1,500 miles, UP will go the MPHs at the Strip. So I shouldn't be worried at all guys.

Btw, Im still waiting too for that announcement of "Late April Fools".

Anyways, I for myself don't care about Drag Strips. Or racing at the Streets. This car was made to live on a Road Course! That's where this car shines! It wasn't a coincidence the Z28 marked parts.

Well, it is an auto AND there is more to the ZL1 than the power.

That being said, it's just a supercharger. It's what my car put out when it was just the blower, headers, exhaust on it.

Exactly. If I were into racing at the drag strip, I would not be purchasing a ZL1. There are many more cost effective ways to obtain a faster vehicle for running at the drag strip.

I didn't buy this car to run straight lines; not sayin' there's anything wrong with that! Handling smoothness & great brakes are an obvious turn-on, BUT you MUST be able to squeeze out the most POTENTIAL by breaking it in right. I don't drive like it's grand dad's Town & Country... I hammer it "conservatively" through break-in by keeping it smooth; NEVER abusing it intentionally. NOT all ZL1s are created equal, I've found. I'd be willing to bet that conditions & skill set can make all the difference in the world once 1.5K is on the odo. I'm keeping mine bone stock through the 1st year & then I'll decide whether the Japanese market will be getting my dough once again from now on. My car will be in within 10 days & it better be perfect or a 2013 GT-R will be sitting in my garage instead.

HAPPY MOTORING... & BE SAFE!

I am shure the car will get faster with break in, and say it runs 12.2s! Thats still CRAP! Very pissed, this car should run 11s on stock rubber plain and simple! The freaking 392 is running mid 12s on avg. your telling me you would be ok with having this ZL1 with a 100 more hp and running the same times! These numbers better get better and allot better, and I will just stick with my SS. I feel we will still see these cars hit 11s bone stock, but if they dont

Agreed. But like I said I think many were expecting much more out of the ZL1 right out of the gate. I've personally seen stock GT500's run 12.10's - high 14's at the track...driver experience and track conditions are the main factors. I'm sure we'll see better times for the ZL1 and there will probably be some "hero" runs in the 11's. I still think the ZL1 is one heck of a machine and I love seeing these high HP monster hitting the streets especially in this era of Prius's and such.

So what road course are you planning to run your ZL1 at?
