My MPD1 Spoiler.......very small chip on the bottom edge :>(

I just got back from picking up my American Racing Torq Thrush M chrome rims and IOM MPD1 spoiler from the UPS store this side of Watertown, USA. The weather was perfect and traffic was light. I checked my rims and they were packaged extremely well so no damage (can't wait to get them put on my Camaro ). I check my spoiler and see a small chip on the bottom edge. The spoiler was spongy cloth wrapped and had bubble wrap on both ends to protect the points (the spoiler should be bubble wrapped completely). The cause of the chip I lay directly on Fed-ex. No matter what protection is used, if care isn't taken when being delivered, then problems like this happen!! I start looking the spoiler over and a spot on the top edge that SHOULD HAVE BEEN SANDED/PREPPED SOOOOOO much better than it was literally jumped at me ! I laid the spoiler on top of my trunk (making sure nothing touched) and thinking about all I went through to get it in my hands........my reaction was eh . If I could go back in time I wouldn't have bothered with the hassle and put my money towards getting the chips and scrape fixed on my car :( :(. Should have listened to that little voice in my head .

....so if anyone is tired of getting it from UPS or Fed-ex with cross border fees and their made up BS fees, have "whatever" shipped to a UPS store and take a drive. I saved at least $300 on my rims alone. I say at least because I didn't understand what the person on the phone (local) said when I asked if there set of rims came with lug nuts too.

Take pics of the damage and send them to Eric and then call him. You are not the first member on here to receive a chipped MPD spoiler. He has a painter who does the packaging and shipping after the paint is done.

Thanks for replying CDNSS. The problem is.....I bought the spoiler, painted, from Gary of Gary's Customs. So really, this isn't Eric's problem :(. And if I start sending the spoiler back to the US and they send it back to me using UPS or Fed-ex, I'm in for more money than if I just took a small loss and sold it or had the paint shop fix it (I know you know about shipping items across the border!). I just don't want to sink more $$$ into something that doesn't do anything for me. My opinion......the spoiler is nice, but I'm not over the top happy with the look . Personal opinion because there are many who ABSOLUTELY LOVE the MPD1 spoiler. Maybe I'm just feeling poopy about the spoiler having a "controllable" flaw so I'm blah instead of YAH!!!!!! Plus, what sort of "who cares" Fed-ex asshole was chosen to deliver MY SPOILER !! Oh brother

I had no problems with mine at all. I love it. As for the shipping situation yah its horrible up here. My rule of thumb since my MPD1 spoiler (Nothing to do with Eric, he does amazing stuff IMO) From now on I pick up in the US, I'm tired of being penalized financially for ordering from the US. I Drive down on the minumum gas to get to a US dropoff 45 mins away. I give the US my cash for gas, I give the US my money for it all. I dont give Canaduh any more money for bringing stuff up. My Aboriginal GF has no problem using her status to avoid the duties legally. I just couldnt do it anymore. Something $299 in the US ends up to be almost 600 by the time to your front door? Please. No wonder the car culture up here is horrible it takes twice the money to build something. Until up here things lax (Which never will) I will gladly give the US every cent I possibly can. I'm not doing the 100% Canuckian tax and service charges on stuff ever again. Geez ur in Belleville, the border is what an hour away? (I used to live in Napanee) Do yourself a favor and drive over. I have zero regrets about it. It's not about the money, I just dont like the feeling of prison rape.

On our way home it took 2 hrs and that was with 20 mins at the border. It was busy getting to the booth, but super quick going in to pay duty. If its something large and its to my benefit, definately going the US UPS store route again!!!

Just to be clear, this spoiler wasn't bought directly from Eric. No amount of padding or protection will keep bad things from happening if the person handling the package isn't careful.

Can I file a complaint against Fed-ex? I think they can help out with the cost of repairing the chip
