Cool story.

Just thought I'd let people know about this. It's pretty cool especially if you like WWII era stuff.

On a different note... does anyone have any recommendations of a reputable place to get an alignment done on a lowered car around springboro/centerville area? I was considering scheduling at the dealer (Voss) but didn't want them to give me any crap over it. I will be installing my springs and should be able to do the bushing timing myself, but if not I'd like the shop to be able to do it (and know what it is!). \

There's a Tire Discounters on 73 and a Grismer on 741 near 73 but I'm not sure if they do decent work... any input would be appreciated

Call Larry Mallott at McCluskey Chevrolet Service. He did mine. He builds SCCA race Corvettes. He is the man. It's at kings auto mall near Mason.

He will give you whatever specs you want. It's not a computer alignment. He will set it to whatever you like and give you guidance. I have negative 1 degree toe in all corners. It handles great but doesn't eat up tire shoulders.

Most spring manufactures give specs but you can set them at whatever you want. Call Larry.

I took mine to Walt Luti in Lebanon. Brought in the specs sheet with recommended settings from a C5 vendor. They were able to get it as close to the specs as possible without buying the extra bolts that allow you greater range. The owner has a Vette that he has tracked, so he is interested in performance. Plus, it was only like $70. I noticed an improvement in handling afterwards.

I timed the bushings before I took it in, so I'm not sure if they know about it, but I suspect they do. If not, just print out the sheet with all the bolts that need to be loosened and i have no doubt they would do a good job.

That was 11,000 miles ago and tire wear is still even.
