Need a lawyer in NY state...

Hey guys,
I drove to Jersey saturday to have some work done on my car and got a speeding ticket in NY state.. Problem is that they transfer the points...
I need a lawyer that can represent me stateside ... Please provide input.

That's how I found mine when it happened. Doesn't take a power broker to reduce a ticket - unless you were drunk, school zone, or construction zone.

You may not need a lawyer, but may have to show up in court to get it reduced. Since you aren't local I'd try calling the appropriate DA. Most in NY will drop simple speeding to an 1110A (eleven ten A is how they say it) which is a generic "failure to obey..." something. They still charge the same fine, no points, but insurance will pick up on it. If you were way over the limit or one of the other things mentioned by dkp2LT you will probably need that lawyer.

im pretty sure your are referring to 3111A (failure to obey a traffic control device) Google it

Thats what a trooper gave me last july..

1110(A) Failure to obey a traffic control device:

1st ticket in 17 years.. $130 fine and 2 points

I got a speeding ticket in my SS on I-684 in N.Y. State- (90+ in a 65 !).
I pleaded not guilty, went to court and pleaded it down to a seatbelt violation.
NO lawyer needed and NO points. It's all about the money these days.
