I tried for a while to talk them down when I bought my LS. The salesman said the profit margin was lowest on the LS, as opposed to the LT or SS models, and that there just wasn't as much negotiating room on the LS. If you get them to the $22,500 - $22,900 range, you'd best sign the papers, because that would be lower than I talked them to when I bought mine. It is unlikely possible to get them to $21,000 on the LS.

Now, mine is a 2011 model, purchased in 2010. The 2012's have a different engine in them, and probably a few other differences, so I'm not certain what the pricing is on the LS now based on those factors. But, for the 2011's if you got them under 23, that was about the best you were going to do.

Others may have different experiences based on timing, incentives, region/location, etc, so hopefully a few others will chime in and you can get a better idea of where you need to be. In any case, good luck to you!

Alot of factors come into play on this such as credit score etc. However on the 2011's they are offering 0% and it did not matter on the length of the term PLUS you were able to keep the rebates.

Somthing to ask the dealer if they have a 2011 model that has the same features the 2012 has you are looking at.

Most important thing you need to know about modding a 2012 LFX V6 is that you can't add headers to it. The exhaust manifolds are integrated into the cylinder heads.

As for the dealer's wiggle room on the price, they really don't have much. Invoice plus destination fee on a non-optioned 1LS is $23249. MSRP is $24180. That leaves them about $931 to work with, minus any dealer holdback.

Never buy based on monthly payments.
Always buy based on purchase price.

What I did 1BADLS3 was, not tell them I was putting any money down, or trading my car in at all, I said I was not sure what I was going to do. Because the more you tell them the worse.

No, GM has a 1000$ deduction if you trade in a leased vehicle for the Camaro 1LS. that's why it went from $22,988- $21,988. And my car holds equity. SO the FULL price with tax and fees is $23,821.16, my objective is to get that price down to at least 22,000 if I can---(that's INCLUDING tax and fees of $1833.16)

I will have to go to Bank of America to get my per-approval rate to be sure, but with my current credit score which is 721 I can get a good rate.

The most I would pay on this car is 350/mo maybe a tad more if flexible.

If you are a USAA member and / or you belong to a Credit Union, you can get an additonal discount. The other thing to remember is 2013's will be going into production soon and if you can hold off 2 to 3 more months, you stand a better chance of getting a better "end of model year" discount.

Also, be aware that by modding you're probably going to run into problems with your dealership telling you that the warranty is "void" due to your mods. It might be wise to wait a couple of months before you begin modding to ensure your new Camaro performs as it should, thereby avoiding the dreaded warranty "void".

Without getting out my paperwork, I got mine for 23,500 out the door with rally stripes put on. I think invoice on those was in the low 22's? at the time. So even without the stripes (and labor to put on), it was around 21-21.5 before tax title registration and whatever other BS fees there are. I personally would walk if im not getting an LS down in the 21's before whatever incentives, trade, and money down are on the table. Here at least, it seems that all the LS models sit in the back of the lot. Im sure thats their strategy so they can be safety valves just in case a camaro is just out of someones price range and they can throw one of those at a customer to keep them from walking. Could be wrong. But yea, those seem to be the bastard stepchild that can sit at the back of a lot for a long time and they come a dime a dozen.

Ok so my civic si with 35k miles is valued dealer retail 18.6k in excellent condition on edmunds. Its current lease buyout is 14k that leaves me with 4.6k equity.

The camaro right now i have down to 21988 with no down payment or tax included.

They cant tax the vehilce price until i put a down payment ontop of that right? Im tryn to get 4k total so im financing under 20k at 60 months.

Yeah, I was talking about the out the door price with what I said. That's the only number I worry about when I go car shopping. They can play whatever games they need to with all the numbers, if I don't like the out the door price, I walk, simple as that.
