I'm getting run-a-flats. Screw spare tires and spacers and the hassle of finding a kit.

I found 2 run flats in the rear size and the cheapest is $500 per. I didn't find any run flats in the front size.

[QUOTE=Scalded Dog;4821113]...and I wouldn't drive to the end of my own driveway without a spare. AAA, OnStar, those are great, and recommended... and you can use them... but, for those times when you don't have cell service, you don't have the time to wait, or you gotta be rolling right frickin' now, having the option of putting my own spare on is worth the extra few pounds I am admittedly lugging around.

Just wondering, are you using a full sized (245/45/20) spare tire? If so, how are you storing it in the trunk? Or did you get the spare tire kit?

He has a LT and the space saver in the trunk that came with his car.....no spacers required.

Had my car for a week and had a similar problem, a nice slash on the side! I was soooo happy I had the spare instead of that bs pump.
Yes I want less weight but if it means losing the spare, forget that! Guess the wieght will be there

Hey fellas I have a question. I have recently put 22's on my Camaro. If I was to ever catch a flat which one of my factory Rims would be best for a spare just to get me from the dreaded location to a shop to get my tire replaced. I wouldn't need to keep the spare in my trunk for daily local driving. Im just thinking about road trips.

Exactly correct.... my dealer provided a spare as a $150 option, it fits completely tucked into the spare wheelwell. If/ when tire failure occurs, I can call AAA, OnStar, My buddy Ray... or I can get a little dirty, get going again soon.

I like the idea of OPTIONS...

...oh, and because I REALLY like options, I also carry a plug kit, and a compressor. Haven't needed to on the Camaro, but on other vehicles there have been times in which I am able to remove a nail/ screw/ whatever, rod it, install the plug, and remove the inserter without losing more than 2PSI or having to remove the tire from the vehicle. About a three minute procedure, under the right conditions.

Well if GM sells the kit for the LT then I can buy that kit, buy a spacer and call it good. There are no 245/45-20 runaflats and even if there were, a set of 4 tires (front/rear staggered) would run $2k. The kit and spacer maybe $400.

Yup, the whole kit sans spacer is about $300.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-11-12-CHE...sories&vxp=mtr
But i thought I saw them cheaper else where
Part number is 19257799 for the complete kit.
This place has it for $257
http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm...-19257799.html
GM parts direct has it for $214 but shipping is always expensive from them.

I didnt want to use a spacer and if the rear gets a flat you'll have to take one of the fronts off to put on rear and the spare on the front because it's a different diameter and you'll mess up your posi. Just buy a stock front wheel on here ...there going for about $100 and carry a full size spare... Believe me if your on the side of the road somewhere you'll wish you had.
