Lol. Didn't take much to make the cobra fast. Maybe a better match for his zl1 would be my cts-v. Ill even keep the 3 car seats in the back row. I'm offering a friendly race at a track to someone who said "bring it". Ill even give him as much time as he needs to add some mods.

1.9 liter

Super cool what you guys are doing. but i cant be the only one thinking this,
and i love the zl1 but a 1.9 liter supercharger why, and with the new pully and the new over drive pully that thing must be maxed out.

Why not add a healthy 2.9 liter whipple ot tvs or kb blower.
Just wondering, love you guys you make a great product.

If you local track has a website then you can proablaby look it up.

I can't rember them all.

So do these cars pass the driveshaft hoop req. stock?

I cant wait to see the red one's times get better and better. That seems like the more "streetable" of the two...one that you can go auto-x early in the day, swap wheels and tires, and head to the 1/4mi strip later that same day and kick ass at both places...

And in defense to LPE, not that they need any from me, they are still getting it done. Some of the keyboard jockeys may not be impressed yet, but these are the results of only a FEW weeks of testing and tuning on these cars. I expect we'll see the yellow in the 9's and the red in the 10's before we know it. And they are open with their findings along the way - they didnt have to report these results so quickly.

I agree. I was expecting to see a stock motor ZR1 get into the 10's relatively easily.

Hopefully with time that will still be happening

It's not LPE im dissapointed in, it's the car itself. That's a pretty extensive mod list and a whole lot of money to break into the 10's.

Even more dissapointing considering the 13 Shelby will more than likely break into the 10's with probably just a tire swap and a good driver...
Maybe throw a tune or pulley into the mix, but surely it won't take nowhere near the mods or money to get to where the Z is right now.

Plus the race gas goes to show you that they obvioulsy feel the motor will not handle those mod's on pump gas. It's a ticking time bomb where it is right now...

A simple blower swap wouldn't result in the same power levels?

Yeah - I would've liked to see the 2300, but ZR1 has to keep something to itself. Besides - perhaps it would've put the output beyond the safety factor of LSA. I believe I read that the 1900 rotors are good to about 700 horsepower, even though we're seeing a lot more. That was in an article that featured the 1900 and 2300 Maggies back in about '08. It will be interesting to see what kind of heat that thing is putting out and how much more efficient ZL1's intercooler system is. Apparently - beyond the new lid, there is a new IC brick that lowers back pressure and the water pump comes from the Volt, but is bumped in wattage from 50 to 80 watts to increase flow. I'm very interested in seeing at what power level we start seeing the IC start to lose control of heat...
