On the bottom of the insert, there is a diverter like plastic piece that routes the water to the passenger side of the engine bay and lets it drain where there is no engine...why would Chevy design and release a hood that dumped water onto the engine or any other critical equipment?

i didnt go into detail it drains in a plastic peice in front of the radiator and if your driving in the rain trust me its gonna splash in the plastic peice and the belt system will probably splash a little.....for me it wont work or do i want that as i have a roto-fab radiator cover and plenty of cosmetic stuff i dont want wet

I don't drive my car in the rain that often so water is not a concern. The price is too steep for that insert. I am going to paint it white anyway so the CF does nothing for me. Wish GM or some after market people would make an aluminum or fiberglass insert one for around $400. Has anyone bought the suncoast's hood and are the fits and finishes?? Maggie clearance?

IF you have the ZL1 fascia you will need to have the lines matched with this hood. The hood was designed to fit the SS fascia/cowl lines. And this cowl I believe is about an inch taller the the OEM hoods...
