What "RS" means to non Camaro owners.

So whenever people see the RS badges on my car they instantlly start asking questions and saying stuff like
"how big are your turbos?"
"does it have a super charger"
"How much more horsepower does the RS have?"
"I bet u could beat my cousins SS"
"It's a v6? But you have the RS package??"

"nope... It just adds some wheels and stuff..."
But I keep the badges cuz I like em

I can't be the only one experiencing this

I always think of the rs as just an appearance mod...I think even the oldies it just added covered headlights, some stripes,...etc.
I think too many people confuse RS with the Z/28....

I had a guy stop me at a liquor store and ask if mine was an RS. I told him, nope it's an SS non-RS. He looked disappointed. I told him I have RS style aftermarket headlights, bigger wheels, black roof ditch molding, and a rear spoiler already. He said, "yeah, but does it go as fast as the RS he's been thinking about getting"...

RS stood for Rally Sport
SS stood for Super Sport
So if you have a SS/RS then you must have a Super Rally Sport

It is rather confusing. 1LT, 2LT, 2LT RS, 1SS, 2SS RS.

You can have a V6 with no badge at all. Or a V6 (actually a 2LT) that gets an RS badge. But an SS, even one that is also an RS is always badged SS.

They just think it's some souped-up Camaro. "Yeah, it's got a V8, sleeper-white, you know..."

A 1LT gets a RS emblem if it has the package. Silver SS badges mean no RS package and Red SS badges mean RS package

I've had sooooo many people try to tell me that I can't have both an SS and an RS!!! Especially since I put "SS/RS" badges on my car. They tell me it has to be either one or the other!!! Then when I try to explain to them that the SS is the performance package, and the RS is an appearance package, they usually look at me like a confused dog (you know....head tilted sideways)!!!!

RS = Really Sharp!!!

Most of the general public doesn't know the difference between any of the Camaro models so I guess it really doesn't matter what RS means to them.
