Did you give a deposit with check or credit card? I used my AMEX just in case they gave me a hard time giving it back so I could call and dispute the charge.

I would think they would of had the dignity to inform of this car before they sold it to some one else. That's what I'm upset about no communication with me. Buying a car such as this should be a pleasant experiance and this has been nothing but frustration.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. But wait didn't you have an order number and if so did it reflect the 106 number? If so I would be raising a crap storm right now. If they didn't give you an order number then I'm not sure how they were expecting to inform you that they had an allocation with your name on it.

When i called him a few weeks ago i asked what colors he had ordered for the lot. His reply was well we ordered a black and ashen grey, but that the Black was already sold and going to the west coast.
He then said don't worry the next allocation would be for you so where did this third ZL1 come from. Why not call me ealier if they had another coming in? Its not like I'm not serious about buying the car .
just because you had an allocation first doesn't mean yours was produced first. they run certain colors together and only so many of them before they do something else. and if you didn't tell him the combo before that one was produced. then whomever was on the list after you that ordered it would get it before you got yours.

when did you tell him you wanted the final combination? for all you know they had ordered that car before you gave him the combo. and then again they could have sold it out from under you. you made it sound like you called him up 2 days ago and told him what you want, and then they happen to get that car in.

Yes I can see it could be confusing heres recap>

1) dealer says first on allocation list
2) calls me we have your allocation but cant get exposed fiber
3) I said I'll wait they said ok we will call you when we get the next
allocation.
4) I have been in contact several times since then to check
5) called yesterday still no number allocation came in
6) see new ZL1 on site which would have been number 3 or 4
7) perhaps had more allocations but never called me to let me know

I am not one to complain but I would like to be informed on things.

So it was yesterday. OK you had a car you wanted, the dealer knew the options you wanted. and you called yesterday and told him different things. just so happens that they get this exact car in. . .with in the last couple of days. So it wasn't your order.

In other orders someone ordered this car. you happen to change what you wanted and it be the same car. So he didn't call you because it wasn't your car. It never was going to be your car.

Dealer probably filled up all his allocations for this year when you didn't take the first allocation. You expect a dealer to hold open an allocation for an item that is on constraint, when he can sale a car right now? I don't think the dealer is totally at fault for this one. but maybe they are kind of shady, in not ensuring your order went through. But This car was never yours, and you shouldn't be getting upset over that.

I have gotten the treament from my dealer. As early as last week, he looked in the eye and while shaking my hand he told me my car would be built this week. How can this be if I am still at 2030 on gmconnects. He has had my deposit since 11/11. I am officially discusted with GM and their dealer network.

I still stand by what I said. The dealer doesn't seem very excited about this car or doesn't seem to want a relationship with the OP.

My dealer only had a 1000.00 deposit from me and while he didn't call me weekly, he never failed to inform me of any changes. And my salesman showed up on his day off to get me my car. Everything else had been handled.

The Camaro had a more notice worthy status then than the ZL1 does now and I guess he knew how much it meant to me but it's still pretty big.

The dealer in this case isn't horrible. Just could be better in my opinion.

And it still sucks for the OP to be waiting on this car. It wasn't supposed to be like this.

Of course, it never is.

Ok I could not respond untill now due to my company and I had things to do.

Lets say "monkeyboxeracer" gives 5K from his credit card to out of state dealer and signs a contract that he will get a MY2012 ZL1 for MSRP.

Then monkeyboxeracer is informed by that same sales person that they were #3 on the list but they were getting 6 so np.

Then I get a surprise cal from the supply ordering manager (not my salesman) that my allocation came up. I said wow that's quick I thought
and said to him already? I said i thought I was 3rd on the list and his reply was no, your first on the list not 3rd. I said ok and thats when he said but there is a constraint on the exposed carbon fiber at this time. So if you want the car now you would have to order the painted carbon fiber. I said I know about the constraint carbon fiber issue because and I will wait for the next wave of allocations. He said np we will call you when we get our next allocation and your first on the list. He said ok well the first two allocations will order for the lot and sell them.
So about a month ago I called them just to keep them up to date and asked what colors did they order for the dealership. He said well we orderd a black and a ashen grey one. But the black is being drop shipped to the west coast and its sold now. I said ok well just was curious on what your ordered and bring you up to date on whats been going on with the ZL1. He said well you will be the first one will call when we get another allocation I said cool thank you very much!

Yesterday I called my dealer after not talking to him for a month and asked if he recieved any allocations because we were infromed on the forums that Thursday would be the info day on allocations. I was informed nope nothing new and in fact we can not order any camaros atm. I said ok will keep our fingers crossed for maybe next week. Then I mention to him that i was going to change the color to IOM and the suede option. Completly unaware that they were getting a ZL1 almost exactly like the one I wanted. It must have freaked him out somewhat or thought I knew about this one.
When you commented that this ZL1 was not for me yeah your correct but it should have been! Last I counted 1 black 1 grey and 1 orange equals three allocations not two as they informed they only had. If you were in the same room with me I could better explain to you and try to have you be in my shoes. Then if you felt that it was still my fault some how so be it.
